T-shirt attempt 2007

In order to avoid my disorganization in turning around orders, let's use an outside supplier! I have created a shirt design at

http://www.zazzle.com/product/235414211164808322

I have ordered one in natural to see how it turns out. I will let you know.

wolf 01-09-2007 01:34 PM

Outstanding! Any shirt that will assist men in staring at my boobage has my vote of confidence.

Shawnee123 01-09-2007 01:40 PM

That is just perfect! Must have one.

LabRat 01-09-2007 01:42 PM

Hmmm. 22 bucks with shipping for a ladies T. Not bad, and I like the design. Does the cellar get a cut?
If you get one, you gotta post a picture of yourself with it on! No, it doesn't have to be the ONLY thing you have on...though it wouldn't bother me! :D

yesman065 01-09-2007 01:43 PM

I am so in. Especially if I get to look at wolf's boobage ;)

Undertoad 01-09-2007 01:46 PM

I think we get 10% as a "royalty" but they don't really emphasize it when you're signing up or creating something.

Happy Monkey 01-09-2007 01:46 PM

Excellent. My two old ones are beginning to show a bit of wear and tear.

yesman065 01-09-2007 01:47 PM

Ohh I'm a t-shirt virgin too - this is very exciting!!

LabRat 01-09-2007 01:50 PM

lumberjim 01-09-2007 02:20 PM

yay. i'll be ordering a couple tonight.

Clodfobble 01-09-2007 03:06 PM

And they have infant onesies too! I wonder if that much text will be readable when shrunk down...

I'd love one with a monkey and/or a typewriter--no need to do a lot of work though, the three-on-three design that used to be the site logo would be awesome.

Pie 01-09-2007 03:14 PM

Hey UT -- if it isn't a huge amount of trouble, can you make on with light text for use on dark shirts? I don't normally wear white tshirts (too likely to be see-thru with my skin tone.)
Pretty Please?

Happy Monkey 01-09-2007 03:18 PM

It's there. Pick the "Basic Dark T Shirt" under Style. As long as you don't want dark grey, it looks pretty readable.

Undertoad 01-09-2007 03:33 PM

Naw, they don't recreate their thumbnails correctly for different colors. They won't change the black lettering just because it doesn't work on a black shirt.

I've created one with yellow lettering, it should be better:

http://www.zazzle.com/product/235937681883985675

Hard to know how the burgundy will work on the dark. I brightened it a *little*

You guys ordering this before I even get one, make me nervous.

KinkyVixen 01-09-2007 03:38 PM

yay!

What makes you think they need assistance?

Err, we... err... well...

Anyway.. I do wonder about the type size on the finished product... will the "resolution" of the ink on cloth be enough to keep the text readable at that size?

Pie 01-09-2007 04:13 PM

Domo arigato gozaimashita!

limey 01-09-2007 04:15 PM

Gotcha! Let's hope Ladies' XL is big enough for me and mine!

Undertoad 01-09-2007 04:16 PM

I really think that'll work out ok - just by the calculations I did, the image should be roughly 8" wide by 10" long, so the font doesn't turn out to be tiny, and it's a meaty font to begin with.

lumberjim 01-09-2007 04:17 PM

your new user title: has a meaty front

lumberjim 01-09-2007 04:17 PM

oh, i misread that. it was font . oh well, i like it anyway

Undertoad 01-09-2007 04:28 PM

done and done

DucksNuts 01-09-2007 04:44 PM

I cant believe I had to buy a pink camisole...PINK!!!! I dont wear pink!!!!

and I bought the nightly, so when I curl up in bed, you guys are all with me

awwwwww

xoxoxoBruce 01-09-2007 05:27 PM

No pockets. :(

Happy Monkey 01-09-2007 05:31 PM

Just staple a pocket protector directly on it!

Beestie 01-09-2007 05:37 PM

must... have

Oversized safety pins work, too. :3eye:

If that's the desired result, then save the 22 bucks and go topless.:D

richlevy 01-09-2007 06:29 PM

Zazzle coupons

For any frugal (cheap) Cellarites, do a Zazzle coupon search. I found a few, but they expire 1/10. Maybe they'll be refreshed, but who knows?

BTW, do they adjust the ink colors if you pick a darker color?

:smack: never mind

lumberjim 01-09-2007 06:35 PM

you can customize the design to include a colored fill behind the text .....with a border, even.

Undertoad 01-09-2007 06:52 PM

I thought about that but then I thought, this is covering like a 10" by 8" area and that's a lot of area and maybe that huge area of full coverage would look crappy and feel weird and not wash right and stuff.

Happy Monkey 01-09-2007 06:56 PM

Black-text and yellow-text is probably the best way to go.

Another option is for all of the text to be edged, like the "cellar", black with white edging, or yellow with red edging, etc. That might not hold up so well in the wash, though.

Undertoad 01-09-2007 07:07 PM

I read their bit about designing for dark, and they use some sort of new different process for printing on dark shirts. They make it seem promising. They also say you shouldn't worry about large sections of color.

They are a little ambiguous on how they treat white if you just design with it and then ask for it on a dark shirt. The background of that whole thing is white and I was expecting them to drop white when printing...

Undertoad 01-09-2007 07:14 PM

Buy the light color shirts from this link:

http://www.zazzle.com/Undertoad*

And the Cellar will get an additional 7% via their associates program.

The dark color design is not there yet, and I don't know why.

wolf 01-09-2007 07:54 PM

Any idea on how the text might reproduce on say ... the 15 ounce mug?

Also, a bumpersticker with the monkey and typewriter framing "cellar.org" might look quite phenomenal on my car.

Undertoad 01-09-2007 09:29 PM

Mug: http://www.zazzle.com/product/168221888978494222

waiting for a better version of the monkey

busterb 01-09-2007 09:47 PM

Someone should try to teach them the abbreviations for states. MS. won't work.

kerosene 01-09-2007 09:59 PM

Okay, so I ordered the twofer short sleeved black and grey one with the yellow lettering. I will let you all know how it looks when I get it.

lumberjim 01-09-2007 11:24 PM

eventually, you will all need one of these. it's just a matter of time

dammit. i should have used an apostropholon in I;ve!

lookout123 01-09-2007 11:27 PM

i just don't know which shirt to buy. choices, choices.

Undertoad 01-09-2007 11:41 PM

Bumpersticker update: unfortunately, the monkey has too much detail to see at sticker size. It would just look like a blob to most drivers.

wolf 01-10-2007 12:22 AM

how's about just "cellar.org" then?

wolf 01-10-2007 12:29 AM

I am in the midst of my buying frenzy, the first wave, anyhow. One thing I've noticed is that only the original tee design shows up under UT's ID, none of the other products are there when you click 'show all products' or whatever the clickable link says.

Undertoad 01-10-2007 10:12 AM

Bumper sticker

http://www.zazzle.com/product/128416037971317690

I think the other things don't show up because I rated them "R". When I try to make them featured products, I get an error message.

Shawnee123 01-10-2007 10:17 AM

As I'm going through the steps, one required field is phone number. Why would they need that? I have no home or cell phone, and I won't put my work phone on there. Any way around it? Make up one?

Are you putting the period behind it on the sign up? That won't work...just use MS

Is there anything un-kid-friendly on the shirt?

Undertoad 01-10-2007 10:54 AM

Yes, by almost everyone's definition except mine. You can see the complete text in the largest view.

Shawnee123 01-10-2007 11:15 AM

I am so excited. I thought one of the tag lines on the shirt was mine and it was...in my early cellar days.

I'd like to thank the academy, my parents, and the little people who made it all possible.:notworthy

awesome. I need a new conversation starter t-shirt to wear when I'm lecturing.

I look like hell on this webcam, but it was the quickest way to get this done.

OK, I look like hell regardless.

But the Shirt! It's near perfect. Hanes tag-free, a little on the light side material but it's fine, and the printing is just excellent. The words lay out exactly like I thought they would. Delivery in 2 days.

I say "near" perfect because it is a little on the snug side of what I'm used to. But this is before washing, and I generally wash shirts before I wear em the first time, so maybe I don't know.

Happy Monkey 01-11-2007 03:47 PM

Looks good! Can you get the yellow text version fixed so you get the bigger commission?

LabRat 01-11-2007 03:50 PM

LabRat thought you might be interested in checking out Zazzle.com and has sent you a code for 5% off your next order: DBIMOSOWLRZMGFLJXDFF. This code expires on 1/18/2007.

I just ordered my shirt, and had the opportunity to send and email to a friend (myself) for 5% off their order. Thought I'd pass it on here to someone. Dunno if more than one person can use it, so first come first served.
