footfootfoot 02-22-2007 11:18 PM

Hey howdy,
Ducks Nuts has been pining for you recently.

Welcome back.

Clodfobble 02-22-2007 11:20 PM

Hey Kagen. Sounds like things are going well for you, glad to hear it. Even if you can't stick around, you should still pop back in every once in awhile.

monster 02-22-2007 11:20 PM

No.

But I have come across your memory in the missing cellarites thread and other such cellar ghosties, so I remember you vicariously :)

Congrats on all.

seakdivers 02-22-2007 11:53 PM

Hey Kagen!!! I'll be heading your way again next month! (Gold Coast - close enough, right?)

lumberjim 02-23-2007 12:14 AM

whuddya mean 'won't stick around'? it's not like there's any commitment with this kind of thing. it's there when you remember to look at it. you can't leave. there is no here. anyhow, let me be the first to say 'cock' unto you, brother.

Ibby 02-23-2007 02:38 AM

You can check out any time you like...

What uni did you study at? I studied at RMIT some years ago.

Beestie 02-23-2007 04:37 AM

Congraduations! Astrophysics and math? Yikes. Or as my cat would say: That are serious degree.

OK, so what's up with dark matter? I don't think it really explains why things are speeding up as they move further away anyway. I think the light is playing tricks on us and that they aren't speeding up at all.

Oh, and what's the square root of negative one?

I think you are confusing dark matter with dark energy.

Spexxvet 02-23-2007 12:17 PM

Good to hear from you, Kagen. Come back soon.

Kagen4o4 02-23-2007 08:31 PM

hahahaha this is great. thanks for the warm welcome back in the Cellar. feels like i just stepped out to get more beer at a party.

the square root of negative one is i. its an imaginary number invented just for that reason and has had a profound effect on the world of mathematics.

X^2 + 1 = 0

let i^2=-1
then
X^2 - i^2 = 0

X^2 = i^2

x= i

after readying everyones post (especially bri's and ducks' ;) ), i think i might pop in a bit more often

bluecuracao 02-23-2007 09:00 PM

Hey Kagen! Glad you're back, even if it's just for a little while. Make sure you really bring beer next time, will you?

Kagen4o4 02-23-2007 10:11 PM

why do you think i was gone for so long, i opened up cellar.org and poured beer into my A: drive, next thing you know im putting coins in a jar saving up for a new computer

Trilby 02-24-2007 12:21 AM

it is called j for engineer students that generally ignore most complex number laws.

i is the maths way because once you start getting into higher dimesion complex numbers you have i j and k and even more than that too.

hey ducks how did you go with all the bushfires over summer?

DucksNuts 02-24-2007 07:05 PM

We had a couple locally Kagen, the bad ones were only 30 mins away and my brother lost his house, farm and stock (He's near Licola).

Was your Dad busy with it at all?

Kagen4o4 02-24-2007 11:27 PM

yeah he was getting messages left right and centre about new fires sparking up and stuff. it really pissed me off when they said on the news they arrested a couple of people for starting fires in the gippsland region.
but theres not too many decisions my dad can make regarding it, its mainly the cfa's place to decide what to do. the national parks need fires anyway, just a shame they have to be so destructive, being massive 1000000 hectere fires and all.

DucksNuts 02-25-2007 12:50 AM

There's been a lot of hoo-har here about the *greenies* not letting livestock in to clean up alot of the underbrush etc, because of damage to the young vegetation.

I agree with the comment about the national parks needing fire, much better when the natives used to light an area up as they were leaving for another hunting ground.

Besides, theres plenty of plants that only drop seeds after fire or flood.
