ya know what would be cool?

since threads drift so often.....

some way of knowing what was actually being discussed in a thread.

maybe a mouse over popup thinger that says:

thread has drifted to bashing the new guy

or

thread has drifted to a ridiculous argument about the accuracy of polls

or

thread was mistitled to begin with and is actually about anal sex

or

don't bother opening this one, it's just aliantha and somebody chatting inanely about the weather or some shit

i know, it's not one of the available settings, and then there would be the whole....who gets to write the commentary debate....

but it WOULD be pretty cool.

Beestie 03-30-2007 09:52 PM

This is what I use - its the next best thing to what you are thinking.

lumberjim 03-30-2007 09:55 PM

lumberjim 03-30-2007 10:00 PM

rkzenrage 03-30-2007 11:08 PM

There is a pop-up that shows the first few lines, or is that just in my head?

Firefox only. Why not use firefox at work unless your work is like my work where firefox is not allowed.

Which leads me to this.

Undertoad 03-31-2007 01:42 AM

Thread has drifted to discussing cooliris.

Kagen4o4 03-31-2007 07:19 AM

cooliris is coooool

Cloud 03-31-2007 11:39 AM

why is firefox not allowed at your work?

lumberjim 03-31-2007 12:14 PM

firefox is allowed, but dealer track only uses ie. thats where i spen lots of my time doing deals and getting things approved and such. also, cooliris does work with ie 6 and below. it's not as smooth(the main window jumps around causing it to lose the popup...?), but its there after you hit download, you can pick other browsers.

the thing is, that it will not work with https siteds, and dealertrack is one of those.

busterb 03-31-2007 01:13 PM

Works for me with IE 6

BrianR 03-31-2007 09:08 PM

Thread has drifted (again) to Firefox vs IE at work and home.

I believe the euphemism is "slicker than greased owl shit", something my father said rather frequently. :D

RIP Dad, 4-30-97 @52 years old. :sniff:

(how's THAT for thread drift baby???)

Iggy 05-01-2007 12:33 AM

I bow to the professional thread drifter. :insert bowing smilie here:

lumberjim 10-11-2007 01:16 AM

DucksNuts 10-11-2007 02:05 AM

I took it off about 2 weeks after I installed it.

Popping up every friggin where.

theotherguy 10-11-2007 05:44 PM

I am glad you posted a follow-up. I found it the other day and was going to load it.

TheMercenary 10-11-2007 09:36 PM

Yea, it got bothersome in short order.
