FUUUUUUUUCK

I was backing out of my driveway tonite and I was drinking a milkshake and I opened the car door and continued drinking the milkshake while turning on the car and putting it in reverse and backing out by letting gravity move me back, all this with the driver's door still open. And my fucking stupid ass hits the basketball hoop pole with my open door which causes the hinge to over exert and bend on itself. Horrible screeching noise as I kick the brakes. "Oh fuck." I get outside to see the door with a huge ass dent and I can barely close the door and have to slam it hard to get it to shut. Fuck this is like $500 dollars comprehensive right? Goddamnit, now I'm starting off my summer work (which I don't even have a job yet) at -500 FUCK ME.

zippyt 05-22-2007 11:14 PM

DUMB ASS !!!!
Almost as dumb as an aquantince's wife that got in to her car one morning , started it , put it in geer and FLOORED it , right in to her husbands van , TOTALED BOTH of them because she didn't look .

TheMercenary 05-22-2007 11:39 PM

Nice. Very Nice. Been there, it sucks.

The wife calls me crying (2 years ago), runs her one week old Toyota down the bumper of the daughters Porsche. Both cars get screwed, thank God for insurance.

Cloud 05-22-2007 11:41 PM

I'm telling you, that RBS will get ya!

DucksNuts 05-22-2007 11:44 PM

Whoops :(

RBS?

freshnesschronic 05-23-2007 12:25 AM

yeah what's RBS

rkzenrage 05-23-2007 01:31 AM

Sorry to hear that.

Aliantha 05-23-2007 02:44 AM

Well that's what you get for drinking a milkshake.

At least if you'd been drunk you would have had a good reason for doing something so dopey. lol

BrianR 05-23-2007 05:41 AM

If you can get a door at a yunkyard, even the hinges, you can make repairs yourself.

If this is a new car, let a pro handle it. I personally would avoid the insurance company and pay out of pocket. Those thieves will file it away and hold it against you forever. That's the part you don't see in the cutesy, wholesome family type commercials.

Rexmons 05-23-2007 08:35 AM

don't drink and drive...and if you don't mind me asking why the hell were you reversing out of your driveway with the door opened in the first place?

smurfalicious 05-23-2007 08:48 AM

If it makes you feel any better...

We are in a drought and we finally got our first rain in months on Friday night. We were so happy, and sat out on the back porch watching the light show as incredible lightning strikes lit up the sky and fried power lines all over the county. We were happiest about the 3-4 inches of rain that fell which we desperately need in these times of Phase III water restrictions.

But guess who left the sunroof open in the Nissan? Yeah. I got the Deet-Dee-Dee Award. Suffice it to say I spent my Saturday with a wet vac and damp rid.

Shawnee123 05-23-2007 08:51 AM

I pulled out of my garage one morning but forgot to put the door up. Crunch. My honda was OK, but the garage door, not so much.

"Damp rid?" Is that what you Aussies call a towel?

Hime 05-23-2007 10:20 AM

Sounds like something close to what happened to my dad's car when the recycling truck sideswiped it a while ago. Yeah, that's expensive damage. :(

i'm guessing he meant "Damp ride"

glatt 05-23-2007 11:03 AM

Ah so. Makes sense.

I thought it was like a chamois cloth or something for getting rid of the damp.

And I thought smurf was from down under. Maybe it was the reference to the drought that confused me.
I need some coffee.

freshnesschronic 05-23-2007 12:21 PM

I dunno sometimes the door is kinda open when I pull out of the driveway, and most of the time I'm not so close to the basketball hoop and all the time I don't have a milkshake occupying me. I was just unlucky and dumb.

glatt 05-23-2007 12:51 PM

Maybe you should close the door and buckle up before you turn the key?

But that would be, like, boring old fart behaviour....

(besides, everyone knows the cellphone reception is better when the door's open :p)

Smurf is an aussie?

glatt 05-23-2007 07:18 PM

Nope, I was confused.

DucksNuts 05-23-2007 07:51 PM

Glad its not just me then :)

"Damp rid" is that crystal product that pulls the moisture out of the air isnt it??

xoxoxoBruce 05-23-2007 08:24 PM

Dessicate. Do not eat.

Aliantha 05-24-2007 01:47 AM

Yeah...I was a bit confused about smurf for a bit too...specially since the side bit thingy says somewhere other than Australia.

Aliantha 05-24-2007 01:47 AM

btw, isn't this the second time fresh has started a thread with this title?

I think he is referring to those containers of Calcium Chloride that you purchase in a supermarket, and place in a cupboard, or a place in your house that suffers from moisture. The crystals absorb water molecules (they are hygroscopic), from the surrounding air. Damp Rid is made in the USA, BTW.

Inanimate objects almost always win.

piercehawkeye45 05-24-2007 10:33 PM

Not with me. I always win....

BrianR 05-25-2007 08:18 AM

But what about getting rid of that pesky excess water weight?

And as a bonus, you could wipe with a feather duster!

jamesdalphonse1 05-30-2007 06:33 PM

Rexmons 05-31-2007 10:59 AM

You are posting them in different threads. If you keep track of the thread you are in when you post, and then go back to that thread, you will see your posts. You've been posting in different threads all over the Cellar.

monster 05-31-2007 11:09 AM

Alternately, you have yourself on ignore. Which is a concept I should try some time.

you can't ignore yourself....I tried it:p

LabRat 05-31-2007 11:15 AM

Hmmm. Might try that myself sometime. ;)

monster 05-31-2007 11:46 AM

Actually, I'd just like to ignore some bits of me. Some of the wobbly bits and the occasional bitchy aspect. And it would be could if I could ignore the empty beer bottles too.
