I want to get beest a Utilikilt -black cotton, but I'm to tight to pay those prices.

My gentleman has a Utilikilt, looks quite spiffy in it, actually.

Think of it this way, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than a kilt made from a tartan, especially one of the more rare patterns. My friend's son's was around $500.
