Rkzenrage is in the hospital
Hi, Kan here. Just wanted to let all of Rob's friends know that he is back in the hospital. They thought he had a blood clot on his lung but thank goodness he did not. Possibly, there is fluid around his heart, clogged artery(ies) or a valve not working properly. He has been in since Tuesday and had a litany of tests. He is getting a heart cath today around 2:30 p.m. EST.
If that comes back well, we will be home tomorrow or perhaps even this evening (YAY!). If not, we will be transferred to a bigger hospital with a cardiac unit. Keep your fingers crossed and I will keep you posted with the results. xxoo, Kan |
Even though it might annoy him into a state of apoplexy, I'll offer prayers for his healing.
:::positive energies and such:::
Medical technology is a miracle in itself; you'll be glad you're not living in another era at a time like this.
I shall also pray for Rob and the whole family - it must be tough on Kan and everybody else.
Well wishes, thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.
Kan, thanks for letting us know what's going on. Hang in there.
I am sending warm thoughts your way. Thanks for letting us know.
Here's hoping it's as straightforward as it can be. Thanks for stopping by to let us know :)
just tell him we've been converting tons of atheists back to formal religion since his absence, that should get him motivated.
oh and to get well! |
Kan thanks for letting us know what's going on with rk. As you can see, he has a bunch of friends here wishing him well, and you, too!
thank you for letting us know. We will be waiting with bated breath. (I just love that expression!)
What a ham. Here I am having a domestic crisis and HE has to go to the emergency room! Rob, I sincerely hope that I still have the biggest problem this week. You can have Biggest Scare, just come home quickly and well.
Best wishes.
Get home soon.
Praying for a quick recovery.
Good wishes and positive energy to all the RZR family.

I think rkz needs a laptop computer with a network connection so he can read all these fine well-wishes, to which I'll add: Get well soon, you cranky baster Hung the Athiest |
Stand strong Rob - with everything else you've gone through, this is just a speed bump.
meow. wrong kind of "bate"!
(searches fruitlessly for kittycat smilie) |
I think Rob might accept energies, however they are offered. Atheist or no, he's a guy who strikes me as someone who recognizes the value of human spirit and concern.
Best wishes, rk and family.
Well that sucks. Tell him to quit harassing the nurses and get his butt back here where he belongs.
Hang in there RK !!
Get better rk.
rub some dirt on it, rob. and get back in the game.
Hugs RK! Hope everything goes well and you go home soon. Will be offering positive energy and thoughts for your recovery.
Stormie |
You guys got our prayers too.
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I just knew this was coming. Rkz hasn't been himself the last couple of weeks and it's been heat wrenching reading his thread.
I don't pray, but whatever the alternative is I'm doing it. All my best wishes are for you and your family mate. I really wish this weren't happening to you. xox |
Best wishes from way down under Rk and family.
Hope you see you back here soon. |
I wrote a message but it seems to have disappeared...?
Ah well, it was just to say non-prayer wishes to you from a fellow atheist, and here's to science doing what it's good at. I still believe in the power of personality and yours is too strong to be wasted. Come back and misrepresent my country as fascist as soon as possible. Love and hope for strength to you and yours. |
Update on Rkzenrage
Hello, Kan again.
First of all, thank you all for all of your well wishes, prayers, positive thoughts, etc. I will pass them on to Rob. He will appreciate it right now. All is well with his ticker, thankfully so you will have to endure his rantings for a while longer. :) However, about an hour before he went down for the heart cath, he started passing a lot of blood through his urine...a lot. The doctor came in and it appears he has a secondary issue to contend with in addition to the chest pain and shortness of breath now. He also has a severe kidney and bladder infection. They are currently constantly irrigating his kidneys and bladder (no fun) and giving him a strong antibiotic via IV. At any rate, he will be in the hospital for at least the weekend. I should know more about his condition later today as I am on my way back up there now. BTW, he does have a laptop but the hospital we are in is located in a small town and does not have Internet access. Therefore, you are stuck with me for now. Sorry, he will have to read his get well messages on his return home. xxoo, Kan |
*up and at 'em cowboy*
Thanks for letting us know Kan. I am looking forward to his speedy return.
Best wishes to you all :) |
Thanks for the update. Still sending warm thoughts! Hang in there.
Kan, I am sorry to hear about the infection, but glad to receive news, nonetheless. I'm wishing for Rob's speedy recovery and hoping you can hold up well through it all. It's good to know he's got you.
Glad to hear it's not his heart - hope his infection clears quickly. Best wishes.
Very glad to hear rk's heart's ok. Shame about the infection, I bet he's feeling rotten. Get well soon Rob, and thanks, Kan, for keeping us up to speed on this. As you can probably tell from all the posts, Rob is an important part of this community and we want him back and lambasting asap *smiles*

Seriously, tell him we all miss him and hope he's back real soon. I'm going to pray for him even though G-d's probably going to be ticked off at me for using a computer on the Sabbath. |
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
I hope you're feeling better soon Rob. take care Man

Let me know if you have an emergency and need a shabbes goy, though. |
Positive Karma sent his way. I hope he does well and gets back here soon.
Just saw this, please add my get well soon wishes to the pile! Hang in there Kan, we are thinking of you and your family too :)
Be well, Rob and Kan. Thanks for letting us know the status.
Kan- you're awesome for doing that for RK. Nice to meet you and tell him that he's missed 'round here.
It's me guys, I'm home.
Seems the chest pain and shortness of breath is that my back spams have moved into/around my esophagus and the degenerative connective tissue disorder has gotten worse around my ribs. The two combined are a bad combination. The heart cath was something he as been wanting to do since I had the heart problems some time ago, the good news from that is that it and my arterial health is good. The heart issues from my allergic reaction from the Cipro drugs is gone. My blood pressure is very low when I am in a lot of pain, around 80-90/40. No real explanation around that. The infection is pretty bad, in both kidneys, bladder and now in my urinary tract. Pretty sure I've been passing two of my kidney stones during all of this too as well as a a great deal of very dark blood even after being flushed with five liters of saline. This will probably postpone my surgery next Monday (to replace my stimulator). I'm really tired, more than anything. I want to thank all of you for your kind thoughts, prayers and support, it means more to me than any of you can know! |
Welcome back rk *smiles* we've been keeping a seat for you :P
Just watch out for the whoopee cushion, you know those crazy Brits.
Glad to see you're hanging in there. |
rest, then. I'm sure you're glad to be home!
Glad to see you are recovering. Welcome back to the bar.
Hey, rk! It's great to hear you're home. I hope that infection clears soon and you can get back on a more even keel.
Happy to hear your home:)
Welcome back RK, hope everything settles down for you soon :)
Welcome home, rk. sorry to hear about all the problems.... especially the kidney stones. I've lived through mine, and frankly, it was touch and go. I thought I was gonna die and I was afraid I might not.
You said stimulator. Vagus nerve stimulator? Super good to have you back. |
I have a spinal nerve stimulator, not a Vargus, different company.
Last time they looked I had 5 stones, I keep them and pass them regularly, sometimes one or two gets stuck. Then I have "issues" like this one. I'm sorry for your past experience, you are right, they are NO fun. |
Very glad to see you back and posting - missed you round here - belly up and grab a cold one!
rk - welcome back. I hope everything works you way.
BTW, I have an ANS stimulator and am getting a rechargeable one put in, eventually.
It does not look like it is going to happen next Monday. Which sucks, because this one does not work very well any more. Which is part of my recent increase in pain issue. |
I'm sorry its been so rough pal. Welcome back.
Glad you're back. Already, I read one of your posts where i was like "What? I don't think so pal" and another one where I was thinking "Yes, very wise, very true." :)
You bring a lot to the table. I'm glad you're doing better.:thumb: |
5 stones, eh? - got me thinking you might want to name them as they're just the right number - you know like Mick, Bill, Charlie, Keith and Brian (if we keep it to the original line up). Might make the thought of passing one of them a little more bearable (if such a thing is possible). Good luck to you RK, you're clearly a fighter, way above my league - not sure if weird Brit humour is appropriate but it is definitely well meant.
