Boys and their toys

We just traded a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z28, for a obscene amount of money, even if it is a rare imported US car.

It was going to go to Shannon's auctions, but now, its going in my boss' shed for *keeps*.

:right:

Right hand drive?

DucksNuts 08-28-2007 05:16 AM

Its been converted Bruce to be *right*.

elSicomoro 08-28-2007 10:32 AM

The late '80s IROCs were nice...and they actually had some kick to them. That's like a white trash dream car these days.

And it's either an IROC-Z or a Z28...they were two different Camaro styles. Silly women. :)

elSicomoro 08-28-2007 10:35 AM

Before I get chastised, let me chastise myself: There was indeed an IROC-Z28 style for 1987. Mea culpa...my apologies...I was wrong. :)

That's so weird to me, the people that drive 3rd gen Camaros in the states usually still wear acid wash jeans and mullets. I guess it's how driving a BMW carries some prestige in the states.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/images/smilies/laugh.gifWinger, anyone? Pantera?

elSicomoro 08-28-2007 04:05 PM

Hey, you shut the fuck up about Pantera...they still rule, even with a dead guitarist!

;)

Griff 08-28-2007 04:06 PM

In fact, they're better with a dead guitarist.

elSicomoro 08-28-2007 04:07 PM

Yeah! Hey, wait a minute...

jester 08-28-2007 04:09 PM

Oooh loved Winger - Kip has the nicest set of - teeth.

jester 08-28-2007 04:13 PM

Never did care about those few years of Camaros (that body style), the doors were way to heavy and the hinges wore out quickly.

elSicomoro 08-28-2007 04:16 PM

I own Winger's first CD...I'm not ashamed.

My first car was a '76 Camaro, but when April and I strike it rich, I'd like to buy/restore an older one--like a '69 or '70.

jester 08-28-2007 04:28 PM

My ex-sister-in-law had a '69 RS - loved that car.

queequeger 08-28-2007 06:44 PM

Hoocha yes. If and when I can, I swear on my mother I'll own a 67-69 Camaro SS.

busterb 08-28-2007 06:51 PM

I had a 66 GTO, and I'll eat your lunch. WAY back then.

queequeger 08-28-2007 06:54 PM

Dag, yeah a coworker has a goat. Aesthetically it looks like a tornado hit it, but we just replaced the exhaust and rebuilt the engine... ho mamma. I can't wait to see it when he's done.

But the $5 replacement bronze bushings, unlike the plastic factory originals, last forever. Just a royal pain in the ass to replace.

Now that's the real shame.

Suck it, you fucking smurf. ;)

There is an old website called "The Greater Mobile Homes of Mississippi" wherein he decrees all Mullet mobiles to be henceforth known only as "Trans-Camaros" (Trans-Ams, Camaros & Firebirds)

The value of your property is decided by how many Trans-Camaros you have up on blocks in the front yard.

You ain't from around here, are you boy?

Ive got myself a cherry 74 el camino...hoooweee! Just did some motor work (350 bored over to 383, cam, lifters, etc) plus new exhaust and intake. Im in love all over again (although i never lost the love in the first place?)

Griff 08-29-2007 08:42 PM

Hey boy, whats that there astroturf for in the back there?

kerosene 08-30-2007 09:33 AM

I use to have an 89 Camaro with T tops. I got teased about being a blond in a Camaro by many of my friends, but I loved that car. My brother got me a Grant steering wheel for my birthday, so when I finally sold the car, and the girl who bought it got it bashed up on both sides, I could tell because it still had my steering wheel on it.

I also owned a 1964 Thunderbird, which was white. It was the coolest car I have ever owned.

My dream car is a blue 69 charger, though.

68?

elSicomoro 08-30-2007 10:36 AM

Hmmm...old car with primer spots...southern location...the only thing missing are the wheels on cinder blocks. ;)

Flint 08-30-2007 10:40 AM

Dimebag never had a mullet,
he had the "obligatory Hendrix perm" ...

And he had a bitchin' Camaro with racing slicks on the back.
