I wonder if this will affect the ongoing debate - Ginger vs. Mary Ann.

Shawnee123 03-12-2008 09:08 AM

Huh? But but, she had no boats! no lights! no motorcar!

Doesn't Mary Ann 'party girl' do something for you?

Sheldonrs 03-12-2008 10:28 AM

She was probably just going to make a radio and an evening gown out of it.

happiest-looking mugshot I've ever seen!

glatt 03-12-2008 12:50 PM

Did you read her defense? Her attorney claimed that she was just holding them for a friend.

Cloud 03-12-2008 12:56 PM

at least she didn't bogart!

zippyt 03-12-2008 04:08 PM

Mary Ann Still looking good after ALL these years !!
As to the pot , well I don't have a problem with that , after all she spent All those years on an island with Maynard G. Krebs

The G. stands for Walter

Elspode 03-12-2008 09:47 PM

Didn't Bob Denver get popped for possession, too?

Yep...and darn if Mary Ann wasn't involved in that, too.
Quote:

In 1998, Denver was arrested when he signed for a FedEx delivery of 30 grams of marijuana. Police spent more than two hours making a mess of his house, and reportedly confiscated two marijuana pipes and several more grams of pot. Reports at the time suggested that Denver's Gilligan co-star Dawn Wells had arranged the shipment, that his checkbook included several suspicious payments to Wells, and that prosecutors were pressuring him to name Wells as his supplier. Instead, Denver testified that "some crazy fan must have sent it." His punishment was six months probation.

Trilby 03-13-2008 10:51 AM

I always liked Ginger. She had that waaay cool evening gown and Esmeralda eye make-up.

Shawnee123 03-13-2008 10:53 AM

Did anyone else have a thing for the professor? (edit: lmao. I meant on Gilligan's Island, Bri.)

YESS! I think that's where it all started...he was so calm, so stable, so unlike myself!

good thing I see my therapist tomorrow.

Shawnee123 03-13-2008 10:57 AM

And he taught me that batteries can go bad just sitting on the shelf. Swoon.

(can I have your therapist's number?)

Met him once when he did an autograph session at the book store where i worked. He was very nice.

Very cool brush with greatness, Shel. I looked him up in wikipedia and found this paragraph which made me giggle.
Quote:

A running joke about the Professor was his ability to build anything from coconuts and bamboo, yet he was somehow unable to create a raft or other means to leave the island. This was parodied in sitcom Roseanne, when one of the characters playing The Professor stated after they crashed, "This hole on the boat defies all of my advanced knowledge. To fix it would be impossible...now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go create explosive fillings out of sand."

Crimson Ghost 03-30-2008 01:37 PM

I had this argument with a buddy of mine.

His logic - "Well, they didn't exactly have a Home Depot, now, did they?"

My response - "What? Are you a complete ass? They had an island full of those big wooden things called trees! What was the boat made from? TREES!!! Here's a thought! Cut 'em down and FIX THE FUCKING BOAT!!!"
