Don't bother knockin'

BigV 03-27-2008 10:39 AM

Nice xoB. On the clean one on the right, (ok they're both c-l-e-a-n), where's the tailgate release? Shaved? I still see door handles. Lookin good!

xoxoxoBruce 03-27-2008 10:21 PM

El Caminos have the tailgate handle on the inside.
The '86 has the license plate recess filled, and the bumper replaced with a Chevelle station wagon bumper to hold the plate.

lumberjim 03-27-2008 10:24 PM

so...how many cars in the fleet at this point?

xoxoxoBruce 03-27-2008 10:57 PM

Only one car and 4 trucks.

lumberjim 03-27-2008 11:05 PM

xoxoxoBruce 03-27-2008 11:06 PM

The SSR is a 6056 gvw, class 2, truck.

In 2010, Pontiac will be selling a version of the Holden Ute.

binky 04-12-2008 06:18 PM

My 12 year old wants an el camino for her first car (well that or a short school bus)

Sundae 04-12-2008 06:39 PM

That's sweet Bruce, but all I need's a blanket on the ground.

TheMercenary 04-12-2008 06:49 PM

When I was in HS my boss had one and it hauled ass.

Are you counting the 2 cammies as trucks?

These may be your neatest doodads to date. I hope you will your estate to the Pew Trust so we can turn it into a museum someday.

xoxoxoBruce 04-12-2008 10:38 PM

Yes, they're trucks.
When I die, my brother will rent a 40 yard dumpster.

And that night I'll show up with a flashlight and go dumpster diving. I'll probably run into UT and Griff, too.

I saw that in the paper here last week...very sweet. Pontiac is holding a naming contest for it on their website.

Henry Rollins does a great spoken word piece that involves El Caminos. His theory is that all the El Caminos and party vans from the 70s disappeared around the early 80s and they all found a home with the meth-head wife-beaters in San Bernardino, CA. :)
