Cellar BBQ(s) 2008
I intend to have a BBQ this summer and invite long-standing Cellar members.
TW, Griff, UT, Wolf, Bruce, LJ/Jinx and anyone who has been on for at least a few months and posted at least a few hundred times are welcome. Bri, Buster, SG, Merc, Radar, and anyone not in PA are invited if you happen to be in the Philadelphia area. I don't have a huge spread of land, so I guess the limit is about 30 people. I will never be able to live up to Plastic Forks, so do not expect half-drunk hot chicks to be dancing around any bonfires in my backyard. My wife is president of the homeowners association and that plan would fail on so many levels.:p Stay tuned. BTW, anyone else who wants to host a Cellar BBQ can also use this thread. |
I'd like to throw one at Undertoad's house. ;)
|
At Buster B's Boars den.

That's comin' up, gotta think about it
|
I was disappointed about not being around for that, until you said no to half-naked hot chicks and bonfires. What exactly are you intending to do then?!?
:D Get lots of photos everybody!! I'm just jealous, no cellarites 'round here. If buster shows up I'm going to be really jealous. It's no joke about his food....oh yea..... |
Thanks for including me on the official invite list!
Of course I won't be able to make it, but to see my name there made me feel all warm & fuzzy. Talking to Mum tonight she said, "I've got to win the Lottery [common game between us] and get you a plane ticket to the States. Those people stood by you in very difficult times, I'd love you to meet them." Quite choked me up dontcha know. I'd have mentioned the Aussies too, but I didn't want to sound greedy. |

I'll be in town in June...hint hint. ;)
|
Me too! I have a social calender that is wide open.
|
June 2014, syc?
|
Perhaps...I don't have any pressing plans at that time as of yet.
We should be out there June 12, 2008. April's conference in Baltimore is over on that day, and I think we'll head straight up to Philly after it's over. |

Actually, I was just thinking...since most of the Philly Dwellars live in the western suburbs anyway, perhaps we could meet for dinner one of the nights someplace out that way...like maybe in West Chester.
I'll probably do a night with my PB peeps in the City, like at Johnny Manana's or something. |
I'm in! I got the weekend open.

The grill picture was taken on 26 Apr 2008
This picture was taken on 18 Apr 2008... You can see why we were eager to fire up the grill! The second one shows how hard it was coming down. SonofV's hat collected this much snow in the 25 feet from the front door to the car door. |
Yea! Last night we grilled pepper encrusted garlic, Meditteranean spiced, lamb patties with grilled squash and Zuccini. We also steamed mushrooms and onions with fresh garlic and a bit of sweetened butter, and had the side salad posted in the salad thread...(Vietenamese noodle and mint)
It was a neighbor's birthday. I think she was pleased. :) Oh yea...and the Grey Goose vodka screwdrivers were ok too. :p That looks good V!!! |
Come to this!!!
|
Let me try again.
Come One, Come All To The First House Party Of the Season. Saturday 31 May 2008 2:00 PM Menu To Include BBQ Beef Brisket Tater Salad Baked Beans Bring your own Chair, Plates, and Silverware. If You Have Lawn Games Bring Them. B.Y.O.B. Send Me A PM If You Can Come!!! |
October of this year you could all come here (California about halfway between L.A. and Mammoth Mountain) Since June is booked and the rest of summer is ungodly hot (high desert three miles from the sun here!), that would be the nicest time of year. My husband does a wicked BBQ and gets custom cut steaks from the local butcher shop
|
You have some messed up weather there!
V, what are the sausage looking things on the BBQ? They look like tubes of pate! |

AKA franks, frankfurters, wieners, etc. |
I thought that's what they probably were. But they just look the wrong colour. And I don't know anyone that bbqs hot-dogs. They're usually boiled in this country!
|
Boiled is not bad, but grilled is a whole lot better.
|
Do you BBQ sausages too?
They're the most common bbq item here - well, those and burgers. |
We BBQ everything, even fish and veggies.
|
...and occasionally small children or animals

Binky, got truck parking? I've been running up and down the Pacific coast all week. Currently I'm in LA, awaiting repairs, but then I'm off to Sacramento.
