The Annual Re-education and Memorial thread
As we are all very stoopit, and need to be told tp get flu shots every year, and how to cook a turkey, and to change the batteries in our smoke detectors when we adjust our clocks for daylight savings, (those poor fuckers in Arizona must have a hell of a time remembering to do this) I wanted to start a thread where we can remind each other of things like this. This way we never have to look up from the cellar and turn on the news at all.
I'd like to start things off with a reminder to remember the losses we sustained on Sept 11, 2001. One a bit more poignantly than the rest, because it hit so close to home for us: link I am observing several moments of silence as I type this. I hope that you will too, my friends. God Bless. |
Was that a year ago that we started the "sister dying at WTC" meme? Wow, time flies.
|
MSNBC has been rerunning the initial NBC Today show coverage from that morning. Eerie. I'd hate to be somebody who turned that on without realizing that MSNBC was showing that stuff.

My Jeboduuza was goatse'd on 9/11 when snakes-in-a-can clogged up the treadmill.

Made any sales on that?
|
I wouldn't buy it. There's dirt all over the letters.

Why should I listen to a dead guy?
|
I don't have to remember anything any longer because I put it into Google Calendar and then set up a reminder for myself. Like after today's dentist appointment I put in "March 17, 8:45AM, dentist appointment. It's St. Patrick's day so either wear green or remember to forget to brush teeth that morning". I'll get a Google nudge 3 days before. When you get old like me you will start relying on electronic post-its, too.

Google calendar can do that. You can set the reminder for any number of minutes, hours or days. It can email you or even TXT you.
|
Yeah, but then it'll start TXTing you just because it's bored. And you can't break up with it because it know everything about you.

When you beat your children, you teach them that beating children is OK. So stop the cycle now, or they will beat their children.
|
Or, alternatively, just repeat "Children are such a pain in the ass" over and over to them, and then they'll never want to have kids. Problem solved.
|
... or kill them and you won't have anymore.

Just have them taken into care. Until Radar gets elected, that means the Goverment take care of them for you. I would like to remind everyone to pull their pants down before they go for a poo. Saves on the laundry. |
SG, I remind the inch about that almost daily.

This reminds me to let you guys in oon my Halloween costume idea. I can't use it because no one down here would really get it. It's the rick-roll costume. Dress normally and wear a tape-recorder or audio device with mini speakers. And when someone snide asks you "what are you supposed to be" hit play. Rick Rollll. (of course it would be better if you had a sign that said "play me" and make them do it) In case you haven't noticed, I am the queen of poor home-made costumes that scream of strange.... I just think it would be hilarious..so someone has to do it. :p |
