To be fair, pupilary dilation is more readily attributed to the flash than to any real sense of surprise.

Still...TF's cat *was* kinda like, WTF?!

My beautiful babba. Who I am afraid is very ill. I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow to be on the safe side. I hope it's just a cold, but he has a very weepy eye, so I'm scared it's cat flu.

Sorry for boobage in a pet thread, I took it by tilting my laptop down - I didn't want to disturb him too much.

Sorry to hear that your babba is ill. But what's the cat's name?

Sundae 11-25-2008 08:23 PM

Sorry Impress, I write so much about him I assume everyone knows.
My babba is Diz. I get round the whole "cats as children" jibe by never calling him my baby. Although of course he is, in a furry way.

And your cats are so beautiful! As is TF's.

LJ - of course I apologise for boobs in a pet thread! I have my priorities right. Like the tits & pussy idea though. And on reflection it does show how H-U-G-E my nipples are.

I'm not sorry about yer boob.

Thanks, I do love my kitties... that was Ezmeralda in the picture. I got her after searching for a gray and white kitty. I had been seeing them everywhere after my Merlin Kitten died. No one else ever saw them though... got to be quite the running joke. I actually dreamed of her name. Elspode is going to post a pic of my Siamese Ragdoll mix Kali. She was the only siamese in a mixed litter of kittens.:D

The cats are all so beautiful! [your boobies too SG] My cat died last year I have not had the heart to get another. She was 13. I love kitties.

I rescued him. Found him living under a shed next to a convenience store. He was soooo tiny. I started feeding him every day. He was very friendly right from the beginning. There was another one I was going to rescue as well, but she wouldn't come close enough for me to pick up so I was waiting on a cat trap so I could trap them. Then she disappeared, so I just grabbed Rascal and took him home with me. He was a real sweetheart. and he was soooo cute. He loved chasing moths, even though he never caught them. (he was kinda clutzy. Rufus is the hunter. He even brought a live snake into the house once, three times his size.) Rascal was only 3. I think he was hit by a car. I still get very sad sometimes when I think about him. I'll put some more pictures up of him later. I wish I could find another one with a similar personality. He kept me in stitches, he was so funny.

Our Skeeter did the same thing. We rescued him from a mom who had one eye and had a habit of eating her young because she couldn't provide. We saved two, Skeeter, and Smokey. Wonderful kittens and cats. We have fond memories of them. Nice you were able to enjoy Rascal.

I'm in love with Lester. I lost my border collie, Cindy Lou, in the divorce. For months and months, I prayed that she'd be one of those miraculous stories and that she'd break free and find her way home to me. The ex bastard didn't take good care of her and she died much too young. Broke my heart. Border collies are so freaking intelligent, and you can clearly see that on Lester's expression. Enjoy him. He's beautiful.

impress 11-29-2008 07:18 AM

Juniper, your cats are stunning. Their markings are so attractive.

sugarpop 11-29-2008 08:15 AM

Lester is a beautiful specimen of a border collie, and he is quite large. and yes, he is wicked smart, as is his "dad." He is actually my SO's dog. (although, we aren't really together anymore, but we still see each other. I'm not sure what we are. He got Ralph and Lester, I got Shakti and Rufus.) There are several feral cats where he is moving now, and they are very friendly, so I'm thinking I might pick up one or two of them as well. I can already see he is going to have more cats. :D

spider cat or...

Ceiling cat?!

Undertoad 12-19-2008 08:09 AM

Duchess Roadkill?!

Some mighty implements of destruction on yer wall there, Sak.

Shawnee123 12-19-2008 08:20 AM

*waves at all the kittehs

Saknussem 12-19-2008 10:43 AM

LOL
Duchess is a funky critter. Okay, we found her on the back passenger tire of our van, inside the wheelwell, out of sight. If our younger son had not said, "HEY! There's a TAIL on the tire!" She would have been a flat cat. Instead, she has the manners of a duchess and was almost roadkill.

As for the implements of destruction, sort of, yeah. Started off with the wife getting me Sting one year. Then I got a couple of war hammers from a friend cause I always play Dwarves in our D&D/EQ2 games. Then the rapier sort of appeared on day..../whistles innocently....then, look, I have NO idea where the broadsword came from.I am CONVINCED the wife got it one day when she went to the local witch shop and liked it cause it is shiny...As for the daggers, well, they came with the apartment..yeah, that's it, they came with the apartment.

And she is SPIDERCAT! SPIDERCAT! NO CEILING CAT! I am not holding her up there! I am trying to pull her off the ceiling...yeah.

Cicero 12-19-2008 10:47 AM

Nerd. There is so much nerd coming off that post I can barely read it. Geek aura. ;)
Take a bid whiff. :)

No rlly, nice to meet you saknuss. I haven't seen you around much.

Saknussem 12-19-2008 11:13 AM

nerd? yes.
geek? no. I don't bite the heads off small animals in carnivals. I do something similar: I teach elementary school in California.

Cicero 12-19-2008 11:21 AM

Ok point two: you know the real definition of geek. Case closed. ;)

lol!!

Poor thing teaches elementary...Kudos to you sir! And in California! lol!!

omg...I can imagine the parent teacher conferences about the kid having bad energy, right now....:)

Saknussem 12-19-2008 01:54 PM

lol nah, the CA types you're speaking of are further south than where we are. nice solid farming community here. And why shouldn't I know the definition? I did my graduate school in English AND I am a HUGE Black Sabbath fan...

Our latest addition, just arrived in our yard and no one knows where she belongs, sadly named "Bruce" (by Waddler#2) come hell or high water....a spirited Siamese ?? cross little girl...

Sundae 12-28-2008 05:09 AM

Wow - how could anyone let her go?
She's lovely.
And I see you are able to take in new cats with no bother... unlike me. We still have Mia and Diz on separate shifts in this house, because of the spitting and yowling. In the New Year we're putting them in the same room while one is in the cat carrier to try and progress things.

Still, they both seem happy in their separate but equal world.

I was very sorry to see the state of my sister's cat on Boxing Day. Very sorry - if I had any kind of relationship with her at all I would have spoken up. He is painfully thin. When you stroke him you feel every single bone in his back, his hips, even his face. He can no longer groom himself, they have to do it for him. He walks like he's walking on knives. Last month he spent as much time at the vet as he did at home.

I hate to see cats kept alive only for the sake of the family. He's 18 years old, he deserves to die peacefully. Sigh.

classicman 12-28-2008 03:25 PM

At least he presumably had a loving and stable family for a long time. There is a lot to be said for that.

Sundae 12-29-2008 05:08 AM

True - they have always cared very well for him.

morethanpretty 12-29-2008 10:19 AM

This is sorta OT, but kinda goes along with what SG is talkin about:
My aunt rescued a little dog recently. Ridiculously old creature, but she saved it, took it to the vet and got it the necessary surgery. Now we all know that those vet bills can be quite hefty.
My 2nd cousin, her grandson, who lives with her, was sick for days before they took him into the hospital. Why did they wait so long? Because they didn't have the money for a doctor. He is seriously ill with fluid on his lungs and they think he has pneumonia.
So her 7yr old grandchild had to wait to get medical care until he was in critical condition because they didn't have the money for a doctor. Yet, she rescued an old ass dog and spent atleast a thousand on surgery for it. Albeit she rescued the dog a week before her granchild got sick, but when the kid got sick she didn't have the money for him because she'd spent it all on a dog.

classicman 12-29-2008 12:39 PM

I'll have to round up my little stinker for another shot.
Half the size and nowhere near as aristocratic - but just as loved I'll warrant.

jinx 01-07-2009 12:19 PM

Oh, that's funny... he's only about 3/4 the size of Banzai, I think of him as little. Which is good, because he loves to be held.

DanaC 01-07-2009 12:34 PM

He is stunning. What a regal looking cat. You could believe him as the embodiment of an Egyptian God.

Shawnee123 01-07-2009 12:42 PM
