Jan 3, 2009: Aardvark

I got screwed up with the holidays and failed to realize yesterday was Friday.
Of course on Friday the faithful expect a warm & fuzzy critter image.
Where should we begin? At the beginning of course...Aardvark.

So, better late than never... right?

Oh boy! For once, I get to make the first joke about eating the Friday IOTD subject!

xoxoxoBruce 01-03-2009 02:04 AM

Uh, er, that's why I didn't post it yesterday. I wanted you to have a shot at it. Yeah, that's it, I did it for you, I swear. ;)

The gay doctor at the nuthouse once made a remark about anteaters.

I don't think he meant one of these guys.

SPUCK 01-03-2009 05:25 AM

Lookit the feet on that sucka!!

No thanks I don't want to birth one of those.

DanaC 01-03-2009 08:06 AM

Ohmigod it's a Clanger! (ref. for Brits)

Sundae 01-03-2009 10:38 AM

Beat me to it!
That was my immediate and exact thought.

Oliver Postgate RIP.

monster 01-03-2009 12:16 PM

But it's not knitted

capnhowdy 01-03-2009 02:40 PM

Do we skin it or shave it to barbeque?

monster 01-03-2009 03:07 PM

coat it in wet clay -as it cooks the clay will bake and when you crack it off, the hairs will stay stuck to the clay.

Yeah....that's cuz this is a real clanger and not a puppet. Duh.

capnhowdy 01-03-2009 05:11 PM

Definately do not attempt to use as hand puppet.... from EITHER end.

Oh I can't wait for the real Soup Dragon!

sweetwater 01-04-2009 07:20 AM

Poor dear looks like a cross between a piglet and a naked mole rat.

SquidGirl 01-04-2009 10:13 AM

I want an Aardvark! I would love to see it wander around in it's awkward nakedness. I admit though, it makes me want to double 'a' everything.....aardvark....aawkward....aaround....aadmit... :D

I think you can just shave it and barbeque it. If you skin it you would remove the crispy part of the barbeque. Those of you who like delicacies such as ears and tongue would be in your glory!!!

DanaC 01-04-2009 04:28 PM

Aak!

Cloud 01-04-2009 06:44 PM

aark!

Sundae 01-05-2009 10:50 AM

Thankn you Cloud
That gave me a big belly laugh

-Red vs. Blue reference above.

xoxoxoBruce 01-06-2009 10:57 AM

Nah, walrus is way down the alphabet. :haha:

Shawnee123 01-06-2009 11:04 AM

That's the aardvark from The Pink Panther Show. Or am I showing my age?

xoxoxoBruce 01-06-2009 11:06 AM

Don't think so, this Aardvark is only a few weeks old.;)

If it's any consolation, I immediately recognized Ant and Aardvark, and had some very nostalgic moments.

Actually, this may not be of any consolation to you because of how old I am about to be ...

xoxoxoBruce 01-06-2009 11:58 AM

But how old you're about to be is only a day older than you are today. Hardly worrying about.:p

wolf 01-06-2009 02:45 PM

Exactly.

Those were great cartoons. Who did the Aardvarks' voice? Hold on a sec (googlegooglegoogle). It says John Byner. I was thinking it was someone more famous than that. I can almost hear the voice.

And who doesn't love Mancini's The Pink Panther? Who doesn't love Mancini?
