They [PD] do seem quite hostile...I don't mean towards me, I expected that and there are reasons for it. I mean... *thinks* there's a kind of edginess to the place. Reminds me a little of gamer forums: woe betide the newb who hasn't read the newb faq before posting kind of thing. Probably because they are 'discordians' so...knowing what a discordian is and being ofay with the different facets of that seems to be a useful thing if someone is going to post there. The advice to newcomers includes things like warnings to people that if they come in all fired up with enthusiasm having just dicovered discordianism and wanting to discuss an aspect of it; if it's been discussed a thousand times before you won't get a positive response.

I can understand that; but I personally found it quite offputting.
