Grandma's homemade bisquits!

note: Grandma and Grandpa lived on a farm and did oodles of hard work. I think the lard got sweated out their pores cuz they both lived to a good old age.

I actually had eggs instead of hash browns. But they were gooooood. Now, back to the grindstone.... oh wait, I've blubbered up into my chair, I can't move....... love handles flurbing out the side of the arms flfufbfbfababalauabalub......

If you're allergic to dairy and soy, lard can be a really useful butter substitute.

As much as I love lard for frying potato chips, I really can't see spreading it on toast.

huh. I thought it was a mashed potato flying saucer.

When I was in Germany in the 80's it wasn't uncommon to see people eating bread with lard spread on it. Shmaltz. I wonder if they still do that?

Does lard taste like crisco? If so, why?

It's been a very long time since I've had lard. I don't remember being impressed.

But fries cooked in lard are yummeh. For each one you eat, you are taking a day off of your life.

Compare and contrast, however many words it takes.

I keep a jar of Niman Ranch bacon grease in my fridge. Use it like butter in sautees or such. :yum: :bacon:

Raised doughnuts fried in lard are to die for.
