Limbaugh Reported Hospitalized With Chest Pains

What a tragedy for America should Rush Limbaugh succumb after being stricken today on the golf course in Hawaii. For this calm, fair and balanced voice of reason to be struck down and taken from us during a time when his cool reflection and insights are more important than ever would be a national tragedy.

Indeed, should Limbaugh pass away, it is inevitable that tree hugging Leftwing Socialist wackos will tear down the very foundations of this God-fearing nation, send us careening headlong into another Sodom and Gomorrah, perhaps even trigger the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and bringing brimstone and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse to extract retribution from our nation, now bereft of it's moral compass.

So...everyone please dig deep, and send those contributions to me, Elspode. I will see that all donations go to an appropriate political action fund to ensure that Glenn Beck, or someone like him, can quickly ascend to their rightful position as the defacto leader of the Republican Party. Appropriate handling and service fees will, of course, be deducted in keeping with the best ideals of Free Enterprise.

Thank you.

chrisinhouston 12-31-2009 08:42 AM

They reported he may have suffered a heart attack but I think you have actually have a heart to do that!:D

Shawnee123 12-31-2009 08:43 AM

In retrospect, you're being very short-sighted, Els. What about Ann Coulter? The anti-christ could be female (or a reasonable facsimile thereof, in that case) too, ya know. Sheesh. Or Palin. Who, oh who, will speak for (name 3 dwellars, quick!)?

classicman 12-31-2009 08:44 AM

Do you think we can collect enough to get him "not" the best care available? Better yet, can we maybe make sure he gets plenty of pain killers to ease his suffering ...

Oh my, I am so going to hell for this post.

richlevy 12-31-2009 08:47 AM

Actually, the golf story was a fake. He was really checking into Obama's birth certificate. Thank goodness for the CIA.

Is it too late to post to the 2010 Death Pool?

P.S. I just realized. I posted a sarcastic wild-assed conspiracy theory involving the current administration. In 45 minutes some humor impaired conservative is going to read this. In 90 minutes it's going to be the lead story on Fox.:right:

BTW, If he needs a heart transplant, can Cheney give him one of the spares he keeps on hand? So many poor people, so many involuntary donors.

And who, oh who, will tell (name 3 dwellars, quick!) what to think and say?

Shawnee123 12-31-2009 09:59 AM

Oh gawd, I don't know. Perhaps they'll start (gasp) listening to someone, anyone, else!

Pie 12-31-2009 10:33 AM

Thanks, Spode. A good laugh -- and there's no one here at work to hear me!

tw 12-31-2009 10:34 AM

So why was Rush to celebrate the New Year with Obama? If he did not have a medical event, we would have never known who parties with whom.

So its still them and us.

xoxoxoBruce 12-31-2009 10:38 AM

Or we & we, all the way home.

 That was good.

I know you all don't like Limbaugh and, really, any of the conservatives . . . but it's pretty damn cold-hearted of you to *applaud* and be happy when one of them is having serious health problems. I can think of damn few people who I would be joyful about hearing of their death, and political reasons wouldn't do it.

classicman 12-31-2009 12:31 PM

In theory, I agree with you Juni, but there are about 10 (see wish list in Death Pool) that are exceptions to the rule.

TheMercenary 12-31-2009 12:32 PM

Bush was little more than an ignorant puppet; I can't really hate someone for being stupid and easily led by the nose, but I do hate a great deal of what he did (or didn't do) during his administration. I don't wish bad things on him, but I'm entirely thankful that his administration is over and done with.

Rush, on the other hand, is not a moron, nor a puppet. He is a conscientious hatemonger, a flaming hypocrite, and a joyous sower of discontent. THAT kind of person, I can wish bad things upon without the slightest hesitation or guilt.

Hey now, I was applauding Elspode's eloquent composition. I wouldn't even give Limbaugh the clap. :headshake

Shawnee123 12-31-2009 01:24 PM

It was a nice piece of prose. *shrug*

Elspode 12-31-2009 04:35 PM

I did not and would not applaud the death of a human being (okay, all bets are off on Bin Laden, because he's flat out asked for it). My post was simply intended to demonstrate how incredibly polarized our political process and our population has become, and how incredibly jaded the "leaders" of the process have become. No longer do we debate and reach consensus. We simply attack, accuse, undermine and sling mud, with the goal of winning our way at any price.

Limbaugh is the self proclaimed leader of his side of this mindless, greedy rabble. When Pelosi drops to her knees clutching her chest in her knit group or whatever, I'll probably have something equally caustic and offensive to post about her.

I think they made a decision early on that Cheney would be the bad guy and Bush would be the warm father figure. Sort of a master-Sargent vs Captain game so we would take our medicine from Cheney and still love W. Cheney played his hand too strong and W lacked the charisma so it fell flat. It didn't help that their foreign policy was completely wrong for a time when communication between modern and pre-modern civilizations was critical.

Why do so many listen to Limbaugh and Fox News? One, neither provide facts which is what an overwhelming number of less educated people want. An overwhelming majority let their eyes glaze over when numbers appear. Two, proof is found in personal attacks.

How do informed people immediately see the most evil? They ask a simple question. Did he post facts and numbers? Or did he just attack another? Latter is exactly how Hitler became so popular and took power. You would think, by now, we have learned?

God save us if we encounter aliens in the next 100 years. So many have so little ability to see reality. Maybe in 100 years, the tricks used by political extremists will be obvious by as much as 50% of us. Unfortunately, so many still give credibility to personal attacks. Amazing how Fox News can use the same tricks I would hear from Radio Moscow in 1960 – and not see it as propaganda.

A first indication that someone is lying - he does not post facts and numbers. Instead, he entertains and encourages emotions. And mocks others with personal disparagement. The majority will give credibility to disparagement and will be angry when challenged to provide numbers. Until we fix that problem, hopefully, we will not permanently contaminate relationships with alien species.

classicman 01-01-2010 07:08 PM

What about the one looking for facts and asking questions who gets attacked?

Yep. I notice you are not doing cheap attacks on Obama and other lately. The Cellar has been a more pleasant place.

classicman 01-01-2010 07:43 PM

I didn't respond, you mean? not worth it - got to many real things to worry about.

BrianR 01-01-2010 07:47 PM

I don't listen to Limbaugh for facts. I listen to hear his opinion and to be entertained.

SamIam 01-01-2010 09:07 PM

Apparently Limbaugh showed no sign of heart failure or other diseases. So we can all expect him back ranting soon. He also said he had the best care the country can offer, and stated that all other Americans recieve the same treatment.

Pffft! I bet a skid road drunk wouldn't. I bet even a non-entity named SamIam wouldn't. Anyhow, lets hear it for Russ and the status quo. *blows raspberry*

A few month ago, while waiting for commands from earth, Spirit (the Martian Rover) accidentally tuned into Limbaugh. So Martians quickly buried Spirit in sand. Spirit has been unable to move anyone since.

"Mission Accomplished".

That is NOT FAIR. Some people think Rush contributes a lot to society. :lol2:

lookout123 01-02-2010 10:58 AM

Rush is able to fund any kind of care he wants for himself so good for him. My semi-joking question was why other people should have to pay for another guy's treatment especially if he is the skid row drunk?

Elspode 01-02-2010 11:38 AM

``Are there no prisons?'' asked Scrooge.

``Plenty of prisons,'' said the gentleman, laying down the pen again.

``And the Union workhouses?'' demanded Scrooge. ``Are they still in operation?''

``They are. Still,'' returned the gentleman, `` I wish I could say they were not.''

``The Treadmill and the Poor Law are in full vigour, then?'' said Scrooge.

``Both very busy, sir.''

``Oh! I was afraid, from what you said at first, that something had occurred to stop them in their useful course,'' said Scrooge. ``I'm very glad to hear it.''

``Under the impression that they scarcely furnish Christian cheer of mind or body to the multitude,'' returned the gentleman, ``a few of us are endeavouring to raise a fund to buy the Poor some meat and drink, and means of warmth. We choose this time, because it is a time, of all others, when Want is keenly felt, and Abundance rejoices. What shall I put you down for?''

``Nothing!'' Scrooge replied.

``You wish to be anonymous?''

``I wish to be left alone,'' said Scrooge. ``Since you ask me what I wish, gentlemen, that is my answer. I don't make merry myself at Christmas and I can't afford to make idle people merry. I help to support the establishments I have mentioned: they cost enough: and those who are badly off must go there.''

``Many can't go there; and many would rather die.''

``If they would rather die,'' said Scrooge, ``they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population. Besides -- excuse me -- I don't know that.''

Actually, they do, and you would. And a friendly person from patient resources would help you fill out a medical assistance application so you could have state-funded medical coverage after you left the hospital.

Been there, done that, seen it with my own eyes.

The system is not as broken as Obama wants you to think.

A better system for unfunded (or underfunded) persons needing primary care would be a significant improvement.

SamIam 01-02-2010 12:31 PM

I agree with your last sentence and feel envy for those living in PA. Colorado is a very conservative state, despite having a democratic governer at the moment. Colorado spends as little on indigent care as it possibly can get away with. When I didn't have health insurance some years back and became ill and needed expensive tests, Colorado medicine just shrugged its shoulders. One medical official told me to move to California since I would get better care there. :headshake

Well, it is a cold state and the bodies of those who died without care could keep for months in the snow. I'm guessing that might be why some of those ministries are popular in CO. Sing a hymn, get a free bowl of soup.

tw 01-02-2010 06:39 PM

Spirit also has no health care. So when that big burly Martian kicked sand in its face, then Spirit was simply left to die. If you think Colorado is cold, try Mars. No health care. Angry Martians who hate Limbaugh. And so cold that even buzzards will not chew on your remains.

Limbaugh in Hawaii has no idea what the rest of us in the universe are living with.

wolf 01-02-2010 06:53 PM

You cold hearted bastard! My favorite skid row drunk was in poor health on 911, just down an alley from the world trade center! I was hoping he would get lifesaving care so he could be made into Soylen Green, thereby contributing to society. :p

An improvement would be a system that didn't turn middle class working folks into dead folks or poor folks.

I've been getting their propaganda for years now. I have no idea how I got on their mailing list, but it gives me a nice warm glow every time I take the latest issue from the mailbox and immediately drop it in the garbage can.

I'd cancel the thing, but it also gives me a nice warm glow knowing they're wasting their money/energy/time on someone who thinks they suck.
