I win.

monster 01-27-2010 12:22 PM

nice rack you have there, sqrl, I'd never've guessed!

Sundae 01-27-2010 01:46 PM

With due respect, that lady has little to push.
I'll post a pic of the construction work required on my bosom, that's a real push-up.

Maybe.

I think that's one of the main attractions for those who have little to push. All the more reason to want to push, makes it look like there's more than there is.

monster 01-27-2010 02:30 PM

I managed one push-up this morning. Girly-style. They're so uncomfortable -why would anyone want to do that? And I wasn't that thrilled at being that friendly with the carpet. mutter mutter grumble must work on upper body strength mutter ...used to be able to do them when I did power yoga....grumble...

classicman 01-27-2010 02:53 PM

I used to rip 'em out like there was no tomorrow when I went to the gym regularly. Then I effed up my elbow doing pull ups . . . Now I can only manage about 20-30 before the pain becomes unbearable.

Trust me - I discovered underwired bras when I was 14. There wasn't even anything to push up until then. I bought them to make the most of what I had. It took two years until my cup overfloweth. So I'd never mock small breasted ladies, I was one for years.

I'm just saying it's like comparing the Albert Bridge in London (useful, highly decorative and beautiful) to the Forth Railway Bridge - a monumental achievement of engineering, which has beauty in its strength and utility.

I know Bruce favours the smaller ladies, but he's always very accommodating.

My vote is any ladies who believe they need a push-up bra for any reason will be much appreciated here. But if prizes are given out then the overall structure of the engineering should be a factor ;)

squirell nutkin 01-27-2010 06:05 PM

An apt metaphor. Fancy, plain, industrial, as long as they get you to the other side.

jinx 01-27-2010 07:07 PM

Squirrel: Those are nice racks, and nice bra too. However, it ain't a push-up bra.

skysidhe 01-27-2010 08:21 PM

I can only do 7 but I do have a trigger point ball up from retail work.
( from pulling totes of levis off dollies and they are 150lbs or felt like it)

I am scrawny in the shoulders and .....

Push ups are hard. I wish I could do them.

You guys are doing great!

Has anyone ever seen those pull up bars you can buy to put on your door frame? I wonder if those would be less damaging than a push up?

I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking the only push up I have is in my drawer.

Flint 01-27-2010 08:40 PM

I do 10 pushups, 10 squats, and 30 reps crunches (straight/alternating/straight) every morning with my morning stretches. It only takes 10-15 minutes in my morning schedule (in between putting on my underwear and putting on my pants) to tell my body "I expect you to be able to do stuff."

My left shoulder is not up to any endurance challenges, unfortunately. Mentally, I could force it to happen, but physically I would be minus one good shoulder for a few months.

I've got one slightly used for sale. It was far worse than a push for my arm.

jinx 01-27-2010 09:24 PM

I did 20 inside and 20 outside pull ups today, and 20 dips.

These folks say it is. And for nearly $500. they should be right.

WTF do I know? I'm just a squirell.

monster 01-27-2010 09:42 PM

you can get underwired bras in size AA in the trainer bra section -wtf?

I can push my credit card bill up no problem. I did several hundred of them already this week.

Juniper 01-27-2010 11:18 PM

Back to the original topic . . . ahem. :) My son has a pull-up bar on his bedroom doorway. He does use it for its intended purpose, but has lots of fun swinging on it like a monkey whenever he goes in or out. He can also flip upside down on the thing. And he has the "perfect pushup," which is sort of a handle on a round swivel-thing for each hand, and I think it's way back someplace under his bed.

He's supposed to be doing pullups and pushups for wrestling conditioning, having joined the "push up club" and signed up for 30 a day. Sometimes he even remembers to do them.

Both of my kids won a prize in their PE classes for doing the most pushups and pullups.

Me? I can't even do one. There's just too much gravity.

Cicero 01-27-2010 11:22 PM

Let me know when we get to pull ups, so I can completely ignore this thread.:p

jinx 01-28-2010 07:49 PM

Thanks Tulip!
I still have flarm though, I think its just comes with age.

BigV 01-28-2010 07:56 PM

dear squirrel nutkin

is that one push up or two?

Tulip 02-03-2010 10:50 PM

I finally decided to get down and see how many push-ups I can do. I used to do like 5-10 push-ups, don't remember exactly. So, down I go, grunted "1" as I tried to push myself up. Oomph! I fell down with a plop. :eyebrow: So, on my knees I go. :p Got only 23 down. Hihi...oh well....
