Super Bowl

Wow! The Who suck!

Griff 02-07-2010 07:18 PM

Any good commercials yet? I'm partial to Puxatawny Polomolu... amusing.

lumberjim 02-07-2010 07:19 PM

i kind of liked 'little Kiss'

but I had a nice nap during the Who's performance. never liked those guys.

jinx 02-07-2010 07:20 PM

I saw The Who back in 1990. They sucked then, they suck exponentially more now.

And I saw some old man beer belly - way grosser than nip.

Griff 02-07-2010 07:22 PM

Sean Peyton gets the brass balls award!

Yeah much grosser than nip.

Its really sad watching these old guys trying to hit their notes. Actually it hurts the ears.

lumberjim 02-07-2010 07:34 PM

they shouldnt play songs that have them in, IMO.

just do the safe shit.

lumberjim 02-07-2010 07:38 PM

wow... this is becoming a game

Griff 02-07-2010 07:45 PM

It should be all offense from here on out.

Pico and ME 02-07-2010 07:58 PM

What is that song I keep hearing...they just used it on the last NFL commercial.

glatt 02-07-2010 08:27 PM

"Hope I die before I get old." HA!

glatt 02-07-2010 08:30 PM

Ooh. I'm glad I decide to root for the Saints. Nice interception, guys!

Griff 02-07-2010 08:32 PM

Huge play.

lumberjim 02-07-2010 09:16 PM

teh Saints are ghey

monster 02-07-2010 09:17 PM

Who sucked, saints rocked ...but I'm confused about the 2-point second touchdown thingie for the saints -the one they had to consult the instant replay. why didn't they do the goal kick thing and why two points?

lumberjim 02-07-2010 09:18 PM

don't tell her....

she's from England

most of that lot were teh ghey as far as I could see. No wonder the ones who aren't felt the need to parade their babies..... I've never seen such hip waggling and limp-wristedness outside of figure-skating and diving.

2pt conversion

monster 02-07-2010 09:22 PM

That Colts #66, though..... what a fucking porker, hips wider than shoulders -with pads. It's all very well being able to knock the oppo over, but he'll naver catch them given the way his team mates left him behind as he waddled onto the field

monster 02-07-2010 09:25 PM

thanks, jinx

Undertoad 02-07-2010 09:27 PM

worst ads ever

monster 02-07-2010 09:39 PM

I've seen worse

lumberjim 02-07-2010 09:40 PM

the Coke ads lead the league in suck

oh,,, and godaddy....? what the lack of tits?

wolf 02-07-2010 10:22 PM

The commercials were pretty conventional, the Who is no longer talking about their own generation, and I was very disappointed that ALL of the guitars survived the performance.

Go Saints, though. That was quite cool.

I'm big on the Underdog thing.

Elspode 02-07-2010 11:03 PM

They had the Who mixed very badly. They haven't had *good* voices for 25 years, but it was harder to tell when the vocals weren't mixed totally out front of the music. Killer light show, though.

glatt 02-08-2010 06:58 AM

The light show was very good. And the music was pretty decent at times. But the vocals sucked.

We put the sound through the stereo when the halftime show started, and maybe that helped.

Trilby 02-08-2010 07:11 AM

YAY SAINTS!

(am i too late?)

Undertoad 02-08-2010 09:49 AM

If you don't have a John Entwistle to play bass, because he's dead, a Pino Palladino is the only acceptable replacement.

wolf 02-08-2010 09:58 AM

Trying to generalize the punch buggy game to the whole VW line really didn't work. But Stevie Wonder was funny.

And there were too many commercials without pants. Didn't get that.

They needed a more sentimental Budweiser Clydesdale ad this year too. The Bull one was cute, but did not touch greatness or cause tearing.

Juniper 02-08-2010 09:59 AM

Not a who fan here -- except for the ones in the Grinch. :)

But it always chaps me when the two guys remaining from some ancient rock group "reunite" and bill themselves as the whole deal. I mean, if Page & Plant reunite (again) would they really be Led Zeppelin? Shouldn't be the "Who" - should've been the "Two."

And man, were they awful.

Yeah, we were trying to work out if that was co-incidence or not

Nope, thats not the one. There were no words, just a chorus making 'ahhh' like music. They played it in the NFL Network commercials...one showed in slow motion a player leaping for a touchdown over a defensive player. The music is awesome. Anybody remember ?

Cloud 02-08-2010 05:05 PM

very slow today; everybody must be hungover

Griff 02-08-2010 05:34 PM

Not a clue.

Trilby 02-09-2010 06:39 AM

Not wearing pants is the new black.

I :heartpump Conan.

those other guys are TOO OLD.

there. I said it.

glatt 02-09-2010 11:06 AM

I read earlier today that this Super Bowl broke all records for tv viewers. Formerly held by the last episode of M*A*S*H. It's amazing too, because with cable and the internet out there, fewer and fewer people watch network tv.

The big East Coast snow storm had everyone inside watching tv, and it seems it was the only good thing on. CBS is taking credit, but it was the snow.

busterb 02-09-2010 05:10 PM

JUst happy I wasn't in Nu Awrlins that night.
