Actually Tim has the floppy ears. The pics need a do-over since you can't tell that Tim is a large male and Chupa er checkers is a delicate female. Thanks for the congrats!

glatt 02-23-2010 08:50 AM

Awesome, Griff!

Nirvana 02-23-2010 09:25 AM

Trilby 02-23-2010 10:47 AM

I get the feeling there's a story (and the need for some therapy) there.

:D

jinx 02-23-2010 02:12 PM

Why don't we commonly eat goats in this country? I'm hungry...

classicman 02-23-2010 02:26 PM

"You are what you eat?"

Sundae 02-23-2010 05:19 PM

Cover the babies' ears, Griff - curried goat (note, never goat curry) is delicious. Goat is sold over here in halal butchers and Afro-Caribbean shops.

Congrats on your beautiful new arrivals.
Mum housesits for a family with goats. She hates them :) She says they are bullies and possessed by the devil. I think it's a combination of the spooky eyes and the fact they butt her.

I guess I really AM a dick, then.

Undertoad 02-23-2010 06:15 PM

There is curried goat in many Indian restaurants here.

Everyone around here eats goat - thanks to the fact that so many native Americans and Hispanics live in this region. I've eaten goat a couple of times and wasn't impressed - to me the goat flavor was just too strong. Goat in a curry might work, tho.

Griff 02-23-2010 09:15 PM

I am trying to get the girls comfortable with the cabrito idea but am failing. As far as goat morals go Sundae...

Gravdigr 02-23-2010 11:26 PM

I'll get the fire going...

Griff 02-24-2010 09:25 PM

I am not liking the burning goat hair smell. Yes today was Tim's disbudding. Don't google it if you are weak of stomach or a petatarian.

Gravdigr 02-25-2010 03:44 PM

Thing you never hear baby goats say: "No, no, I can't right now. I'm going over here to have a red hot poker shoved into my skull."

Griff 02-25-2010 03:48 PM

Gravdigr 02-25-2010 04:06 PM

Okay. No horns. (And, it appears) No little slim jim. What keeps 'em from committing suicide?

Griff 02-25-2010 04:10 PM

Weiner schnitzel is intact. The clamps are for the umbilical cords.

xoxoxoBruce 02-26-2010 05:12 AM

The house is no fun, nothing to eat and not big enough to jump up on the table. :haha: I like the chairs though and the floor planks.

Griff 02-26-2010 09:20 AM

They'll be more trouble in a few days. We drank our first fresh goat milk in a long time this morning! No after-taste probably due the the convenient snow bank cooler. Love that little goat.

Retired guys should probably start a goat dairy near the city...

Pete Zicato 02-26-2010 11:11 AM

Isn't goat milk supposed to be better for you than cows milk? I can't remember the reason, though.

IGF1 is identical in humans and cows.

wolf 02-26-2010 12:16 PM

How cute! You could probably get a couple good sandwiches out of each of them already!

Goat's milk also has vastly less casein (1-2% in goat's milk versus 80% in cow's milk,) which is the most difficult protein to digest in all milks.

bluecuracao 02-26-2010 06:17 PM

Very cute!!!! Even if they don't seem much for cuddling.

Sure but why waste the opportunity, stuffed with bacon and feta they'd both fit nicely inside a turkey.

xoxoxoBruce 02-27-2010 01:37 AM

But if you wait till they're grown, you might be able to buy a second wife.;)
