Birthday Lists

What do you want for your birfday?

I want this:

fargon 06-07-2010 05:54 PM

I got everything my little heart desired 'cept a new car.

TheDaVinciChode 06-07-2010 05:55 PM

Something nerdy, that I'd not have the spare cash to buy for myself!

Star-Trek Voyager: Series 1 - 7 (Slimline Edition.)

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...uL._SS500_.jpg

Why the slim-line edition, if it's just a wish? Firstly - I'm realistic, and secondly, it'll sit better in my DVD cabinet. :p:

Being that it's my birthday, August 1st... I'll probably end up waiting 'til next year, and getting it for myself. Ho-hum!

HungLikeJesus 06-07-2010 06:36 PM

lumberjim, what would you do with a huge rock? I don't think jinx would let you bring it in the house.

I want this. It's nostalgic. It is frivolous. I don't need it. I might not even watch them (unless maybe I was sick and needed to something to keep me in one place) but I want it.

lumberjim 06-07-2010 10:59 PM

you don't HAVE to pick a DVD. Maybe you'd like an electric shaver?

That'd give me one less reason not to shave.

Did I mention I was lazy? :eyebrow:

Yessir. THAT lazy.

busterb 06-08-2010 08:52 PM

New glasses and a small pig to cook on the 7th of July. Oh yes and someone to clean my Boars den.

I hate getting my shoes muddy when I am gardening. I really need something like these. They are kind of cute in a funky kind of way but I would wear them.

Come on party poopers post yours. You want something?

wolf 06-11-2010 12:27 PM

I would like a Kindle DX. I am resistant to buying one for myself, because, well, I'm cheap, and I already have a Kindle1, but the DX, with the bigger screen size and native PDF support, and the recent software upgrade for folders ... and, sorry about the drool there.

And a PS3. I'm not wasting enough time on gaming, and I need God of War 3.

glatt 06-11-2010 12:36 PM

a nice big bench grinder with variable speed

Gravdigr 06-12-2010 06:00 AM

A nice, fat doobie, and a long warm bath.

Oh, and a marmot.(eta: now that I think about it, you may have to sign in to see that clip, shoulda just left the link out...)

Well, seeing mine is coming up on July 1st...

I would like my whole family to sit down with me for my birthday dinner.
I expect my sis & brood will find a reason not to though.
Why do I want her there when I always complain about her? Because she's my sister and I'll never stop wanting her to love me.
Never mind - we'll have a good night anyway.

I'd like a full time paid position as a Teaching Assistant, but that's not something anyone can buy me.

Oh and a scooter (moped)!
Then I could look for positions outside Aylesbury, spreading my net wider.
A second hand one would do, but more than 50cc if I have to make a journey further than 5 miles.
Pink ideally. With a pink helmet. But I'd be happy to have a second hand one.
This one would do!

Or another trip to Amsterdam.
No gang bangs this time (!) Just a mellow wander through the streets.
£169 makes it outside any kind of realistic birthday expectations, but this is along the lines of the above - pure birthday dreaming.

I already have half my present from the 'rents - a gorgeous long pink skirt.
I couldn't be happier with it even if it was a scooter because Mum bought it without me knowing. She remembered a skirt I admired months back and found a similar one. Now that's the kind of special treatment that makes you feel loved.

The other half of the pressie is the meal out.
Nom nom nom.
We're going to the Bugle Horn. Menu here. Not too upmarket to discomfort the 'rents, but nice enough to make it feel like a treat. AND I signed up to their online newsletter and have just received a mail iffering me a bottle of champagne when four people order a main course. RESULT!

fargon 06-17-2010 06:08 AM

Interesting menu Sundae Girl, please let us know how it was.

we took a picture of jinx in hers, but she didn't like it! I'll try to get her to post it, or retake it. i wanted to do a wet tshirt shot, but she thought that would be weird.

Hubby is laid off as of Sun. He goes back to work mid Sept. This was known about, however was 8 days early... causing me distress in the finace department! We have hubby's B-day July 5 and mine July 11th. I am taking holidays from the 4th-13th, so honestly that is a great pressie for both of us.

I was hoping for a loan from my father-in-law, to jump start our business..... but so far he has not said yes (has not flat out said no, either)

So I am now hoping for a few catalogue orders of stuff we have already, so we can take the kids camping for 3-4 days. Spending a few days away from home as a family would be my ultimate birthday gift.
If all else fails we will have freinds over for 2 parties in a week. :)

It's Lynda Carter I wanted, not a wannabe Wonder Woman.

eh hem. happy birthday , buster.

Sundae 06-21-2010 03:32 AM

Happy Birthday to all of us!

Cicero 06-21-2010 04:50 PM

I want a normal birthday. That's what I want. Every year the hand of the gods swoop down from the heavens, and knock me on my butt with strange, random, and odd weirdness that usually centers around grabbing fistfulls of money out of my pocketbook, and leaving me emotionally barren, tired, or anxious (all of the above mebbe).

This year I have moved suddenly, and have blown the bearings on my car. I had much better plans but this is what has occurred in the stead. The good news is, I will be working on my birthday. :) I think by the time my birthday comes, I will be wanting much needed rest.

Waaah/Off rant. :)

TheMercenary 06-24-2010 01:18 PM

Mine is coming up in a few weeks. I told my wife to let me fix up the Harley with some custom pipes and an aircleaner with a fuel modulator and forgo the presents. Other than that we are going on a 10 day vacation for that period as well. What more could a man ask for.

classicman 06-24-2010 01:31 PM

someone else to pay for it?

TheMercenary 06-24-2010 03:04 PM

I wish.

monster 06-27-2010 11:00 PM

I'm having a huge pool party this year. (some of) you are invited. I don't need presents. Just beer, friends and a pool. Which sucks because my birthday is out of pool season, so I'm partying early and calling it a "still 39' party.

JBKlyde 06-27-2010 11:42 PM

A Wallet

lumberjim 06-27-2010 11:44 PM

what's in YOUR wallet?

sexobon 06-29-2010 04:52 AM

In MY wallet is a driver's license that says my date of birth is June 29th. I'd like to be entertained by speculation about my age.

classicman 06-29-2010 07:51 AM

29

lumberjim 06-29-2010 08:07 AM

42

sexobon 06-29-2010 04:13 PM

Thank you for granting my wish:

29, 42

If someone else guesses it, I'll own up.

monster 06-29-2010 11:02 PM

69

monster 06-29-2010 11:03 PM

(happy birthday, here's wishing you some 69 regardless of age)

sexobon 06-30-2010 01:35 AM

29, 42, 69

My birthday is over: there were no correct guesses. Thanks for trying and come again next year. :)

classicman 06-30-2010 07:31 AM

but who was closest? We here have to have a winner so we can make fun of the loser. This whole "everyone gets a trophy" attitude doesn't fly in the cellar.

dmg1969 06-30-2010 01:30 PM

Mine is on the 17th and I am hoping for a bread maker. I want to get into making our own bread.

jinx 06-30-2010 01:42 PM

The girl turned 10 yesterday. Spent most of her time puking...

Sundae 06-30-2010 03:14 PM

Mine's tomorrow!
Woohoooo!

I am NOT going to spend it puking though.

Got a lovely card from the class, will have to remember to take a picture.
Sadly it doesn't look as if my birthday dreams will come true - my sister is not coming to my birthday dinner (quel surprise) and I haven't seen any telltale signs of a pink moped anywhere about... or hints dropped about a trip to Amsterdam. The saddest is that I am having no luck at all in finding a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant. Dana has suggested I write to the local schools as they may not advertise. That's looking like a good proactive thing to do.

Anyway, it's not my birthday yet, who knows what wishes will come true when I blow out my candle!?

jinx 07-03-2010 05:38 PM

want.
