No SG, its more of a cultural joke. They're "gangsta" types...but yet they're snuggling on a subway, very ungansta of them. I think its cute!

I didn't know what to say about this picture, because it makes me mad it's even commentable or remarkable in any way.

but I will say we don't know the whole story. Maybe they're brothers and have just come from the hospital where they've sat at their mother's deathbed for 18 hours.

But I certainly would not care if they were just tired boyfriends, either.

Calm down Cloud. A strong, basic tenet of urban Black culture is how "tough" or "strong" you look and act. And so yes it is somewhat remarkable to see two young men who are looking the part not acting the part.

Its a fashion trend Cloud, just like emo, goth, prep or whatever. Gansta is supposed to be tough and menacing, and they are not. They aren't to me anyway, but I'm still gonna make fun of them for breaking the rules of their image. Hell, I'm gonna make fun of their image anyway. It has nothing to do with their skin color to me. Its just clothes, so stop foaming at the mouth.

It does seem incongrous with the image most usually associated with that particular fashion choice. Good on them.

There are plenty of white kids wearing the same clothes and they aren't "Gansta" either.

For one thing, Gangsta would have a heck of a lot more bling, not one stinkin lil necklace.

I'm not sure what you have as gangsta, but what I see here is a much different thing. Lots of bling, nowhere near as clean looking - more rough and tough ... not as easy to describe as I thought. but that sure as hell ain't it - not around Philly anyway.
