How do you see technology in the future?
Technology has played a big part in our lives, from helping us with work to improving gadgets to the later and better quality. Robots have also been part of the technology industry, helping out with various jobs.
|
I think they should tax all technologies standing in water!

I believe that technology in the future will be a thing that happens involving a group of people and the technology used by those people and it will be in the future.
|
I would like to have a robot as an abusive exercise partner. I imagine him to be the Lost In Space robot. And when I started slacking off, he would pinch my middle with those big pinchy metal hands. It would hurt a little. And then he would say something horrible about my appearance.
Later, I would try to rationalize that he is just a robot, programmed to say these things, and I shouldn't feel bad about myself. |
If you don't see technology in the future you can see it in the pasture:

I need an abusive exercise robot and a compassionate GPS (don't worry Shaw, you just made a bad turn, it doesn't mean you're a bad person. You'll get there, it just takes you a little longer than most.) |
Indistinguishable from magic.
(Come on guys, it's the go-to answer.) |

See, you wouldn't even realize that you'd made a wrong turn. That's the kind of GPS you want. |

I'm thinking there must be a post deep in the darkest corners of the cellar that sets the alarms off when someone googles "homework help"....
|
You know, Brianna did have a few homework help threads.
|
Maybe if we all mention homework help or help with my homework or come here for help with your homework papers, then we'll have some real fun.
Or maybe we've been subtly marked in some way. Like when the papers were full of the signs criminals were marking on doors which meant "Dog here, keep away" or "Great pickings" or "Single female". Because the hype all turned out to be true of course. |
The Cellar:
Come for the single females and stay for the homework help. |
To answer the original question.
Given past experience, through even stronger glasses than I wear now. |

We might have to go meta-level on this one. This poster is probably a piece of artificially intelligent technology from the future. It is using time travel technology to ask us how we see it - anonymously. It must be very insecure. I guess the insecurity is due to being created by a bunch of nerdy tech heads with low emotional and social skills, and the technology learned by imitating them.
So, I ask the original poster: How do you see yourself? Be honest. |

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" (Arthur C. Clarke).
Yet, in my opinion, it will be more and more intrusive, and restrictive. Intrusive: not so long ago, to register into a forum on internet on whatever topic a login/password combination was enough. Now, for some websites, a full unabridged copy of your passport is barely sufficient. Is the next step fingerprinting or DNA scanning? Restrictive (1): nowadays, the trend in the information technology is to go fully electronic-no paper. Google has started a numerization program of books. But they don't scan all books. Question: who is choosing the books? what are the criteria? isn't this a form of censure? In the future, we may come to this : Not on the web? Doesn't exist! Restrictive (2): the more our information becomes electronic, the easier it is to modify, or even falsify. Remember "1984" by G. Orwell. The government described in the book had a whole agency in charge of rewriting everything, even historical facts, according to the political views of the moment. |
