Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wolf 01-28-2011 10:49 AM

Coffee and water. The nuthouse frowns on the Cuervo.

Pete Zicato 01-28-2011 10:55 AM

Water. When I get really wild... I have a Mountain Dew. :)

Sundae 01-28-2011 12:37 PM

Diet Fanta (fizzy orange)
De-caff tea
A cup of hot chocolate with chilli

And I was quite happy with that.
Unlike tonight, where I am having cravings and I very nearly convinced myself it would be okay to get drunk as it is the weekend.
I've held out though.
Just had some Caffeine Free Diet Coke.

jimhelm 01-28-2011 12:49 PM

nothing last night, but there are at least 2 Golden Monkeys in my near future.

bbro 01-28-2011 02:04 PM

Rum and ginger ale
Hooker Bombs

Lots of water this morning :)

Gravdigr 01-28-2011 04:21 PM

The first time I woke up today, I could feel just the teensiest bit of a minor hangover. After I dozed for a while longer, I got and felt like a champ!:3eye:

kerosene 01-28-2011 06:07 PM

Probably going to be a few rum n diets tonight.

bluecuracao 01-28-2011 06:57 PM

Last night was water, because MB forgot to pick me up a ginger ale on his way home.

Tonight, it's Reed's Jamaican Style Ginger Beer. :yum:

Tulip 01-28-2011 10:41 PM

I had some green tea. :D

Aliantha 01-29-2011 01:09 AM

Last night I drank way too much and it's now 5pm and I still feel like shit. No more vodka followed up by half a bottle of red wine. In fact, I may never drink again. I vomitted so hard this morning I peed my pants.

Gravdigr 01-29-2011 04:32 AM

You are redeemed sir.

zippyt 01-29-2011 11:48 AM

In fact, I may never drink again.

It is written…
…and they feared The Saturday, for they knew not whence it came and it brought unto them pain and suffering in the form of a great Hangover. And they fell into despair.
But then The Lager appeared to them as a shining beacon of hope and, even as it had cast them into the shadows, now did it lead them out again into the light. And t…he Hangover was defeated. And there was much rejoicing.

Sundae 01-29-2011 12:27 PM

Last night, as tonight, as before.
Diet Fanta, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, de-caff tea (English style, with milk)

Monday will be my fortnight sober milestone.
Yet to feel any better for it, except a slightly relieved feeling the morning after I managed to get through another night.

limey 01-29-2011 01:31 PM

I'm on the wagon since 9th January too (temporarily). I was hoping that the w3eight would fall off me dramatically, but no such luck ...

wolf 01-29-2011 04:05 PM

Coffee. Water. And I was feeling so throughly wicked ... Cherry Doctor Pepper.

Rhianne 01-29-2011 07:10 PM

No alcohol since 13th June 2009 (1 year, 7 months, 16 days). Last night, mostly water a little IrnBru.

Griff 01-29-2011 07:54 PM

My local stupidmarket carries that brand. I've had the fruit blends (mucho yum), but haven't tried the Chai. I'll look for it.

Careful. You don't want to get a reputation...

GunMaster357 01-30-2011 06:39 AM

I only drink on Mondays.

And tomorrow evening, my usual regimen of beer, wine and whisky may be supplemented by some girlie juice. ;)

Gravdigr 01-30-2011 03:07 PM

Wait til the end of the week...

Glinda 01-30-2011 10:58 PM

I'm drinking the same thing I drink every night - cheap Kentucky bourbon and Diet Coke. I have no shame. Nor a 9-5 job.

Oh well. :D

Getgo 01-30-2011 11:39 PM

tilt, Bud Light

Oh, I've seen your picture darlin, you are most definitely not a sir...:D

No, that was directed at one Mr. Helm and his Golden Monkeys. I thought he was drinking tea.

ETA: Sounds like a band: Jim Helm and the Golden Monkeys.

zippyt 02-02-2011 08:06 AM

Too fucking much !!!

BigV 02-02-2011 11:24 AM

Almost one Jim Beam.

Sundae 02-02-2011 11:53 AM

Is that almost one bottle, or you almost drank a measure?

BigV 02-02-2011 11:56 AM

almost one drink. one finger. there was ... a sip left this morning.

TheMercenary 02-03-2011 03:28 PM

Red Wine is in order tonight.

fargon 02-03-2011 04:10 PM

That's one of those things that's amazing in the UK and Europe (and I'd guess most of the rest of the world). Orange soda that tastes like actual fruit is involved in its making? You bet.

In the US it's artificial and disgusting.

Gravdigr 02-04-2011 03:45 PM

Bud Light. A pile of it.

Fanta is as gross as the stuff here. Orangina is the biz.

Fanta's had a revamp - it is still a sweet fizzy drink, but it does taste less synthetic than it used to. You'd be proud of me anyway - I bought it because six packs were Buy One Get One Free and if I have a fizzy drink in the evening I don't feel as deprived as I do just having water.

Last night I got all the way into the local shop where I used to buy drink before deciding not to buy. My closest shave yet. I wasn't right up to the cabinet, I was still two aisles away. My excuse was that I was going to buy a Lottery ticket (Euromillions £25 million rollover). So I bought it and got out. Didn't regret my decision at all.

monster 02-05-2011 08:21 AM

Do you like Ginger Ale? I find that a nice alternative.

Sundae 02-05-2011 08:26 AM

I love it, but it doesn't come as cheap.
Sayin that, I'll check out Sainsbury's own next time I'm in there.

DanaC 02-05-2011 10:43 AM

I've recently discovered a really nice non-alcoholic australian drink caled Peachee, Lovely! And it comes in a bottle that's quite like a lager bottle.

Trilby 02-05-2011 11:36 AM

Orangina is disgusting! Junkies drink it to smooth out the withdrawal...as if!

I drank Fresca last night. QED with NO hangover.

still cheaper than booze and it's associated costs, though. ;)

Sundae 02-05-2011 02:27 PM

I've looked it up and it's cheaper than I thought.

And yes - the associated costs far outweigh the actual cost of drinking. For example as well as high blood pressure which I am now worying about, I also have at least six stone to lose before my BMI even gets down to Normal. This is a more important consideration than the fact I can get hold of the maximum units of alcohol for a week for less than £3.

But with 3l of Diet Ginger Ale for £1.20 I have no excuse in that direction either :yum:

bbro 02-05-2011 08:06 PM

bourbon.....waaay too much bourbon

monster 02-05-2011 08:22 PM

SG, consider cans instead of the 3-litre if you like fizz.

There really is a gap in the market for a non-sweet, non-alcoholic drink; even fruit juice is cloying if you're on it all evening. I think that calling something "alcohol free beer" or "alcohol free wine" sets up your taste buds for something they don't get, and it's always going to be a disappointment. Perhaps they should re-market Kaliber (alcohol free beer in UK) with a totally 'nother name, not beer related at all, but as something to swill down the pub when you're the designated driver. Ditto "Eisberg" alcohol free wine. People then might take it for itself - a non-sweet soft drink.
At home, at the moment, "cranberry, raspberry and elderflower tea" is fitting the bill, and I'm vaguely wondering what it is like chilled ...

We can't get it in cans, but the three litres is a bulk-buy deal, 3 x 1 litre bottles for £1.20, so it should stay fizzy.

Limey - I know what you mean. Every time I find a new adult soft drink they stop selling it in my nearest supermarket...

Tesco Ginger Beer was my wife's favorite. She still pines for it. I think they even have a diet variety.

I had a shit-ton of Diet Dr. Pepper last night. And a dozen break and bake cookies.

monster 02-06-2011 04:28 PM

I totally agree regarding "Adult" non-sweet soft drinks.
