WHAT? No American Idol (Season 10) thread?
Wassa matter with you people?
Go Casey! |
There is a god.
|
Perhaps you wouldn't mind expanding on that thought?
|
We tease my dad that he's going teh ghey. He can converse about American Idol. If you knew my dad, you'd know why we tease him.
Sorry, I don't watch. I did get stuck watching Survivor years ago when all I had was a small TV with bunny years. Now I have a small TV with cable, but still watch the Survivor. It's my guilty pleasure. Baaahstaaahn Raahhb is a dictator, I tell you! ;) Sorry jill! |
We do not watch American Idol.
|
I'm usually on the laptop whenever American Idol is on in the glatt household. I get a kick out of that guy who had the nervous breakdown when the judges saved him. He can sing pretty well, but he looks too clean cut since he got a hair cut.
The problem with this season is that the judges aren't telling the viewers at home who is good and who is bad. In previous seasons, Simon would make it clear who sucked, and then they would get voted off. It's too random now. |
Wrong country for me.
I'm not even watching Britain's Got Talent at the mo - which used to get all three of us watching together - because it clashes with Dr Who. Which gets all three of us watching together :) |
Bahstan Rahb went from my most loathed Survivor to my most loved Survivor. Rahtan Rahb for the win!
glatt, the kid you're talking about is Casey. As for the judging, I'd rather not be told who sucks by Simon Cowell, but choose for myself who I think sucks and doesn't, based on my own ears. They haven't proved me wrong yet. I picked Aiken & Studdard in season 2; I got it "wrong" in season 3 because I hated Fantasia and loved George Huff, but I feel vindicated because George Huff is touring with Jennifer Hudson; picked Carrie Underwood from her initial audition in season 4; predicted Taylor Hicks would win, but preferred Elliott Yamin, who has a much more successful post-Idol career than Hicks; picked Jordin Sparks in season 6; David Cook in season 7; Kris Allen & Adam Lambert in season 8 (loved them both); and was happy with either Lee Dewyze or Crystal Bowersox last season. This season is a little more difficult to predict, because, frankly, the judges did a better job of putting through genuinely talented singers. Gone are the days of "Chicken Little", "The Pen Guy", "Sanjaya", "Carmen Goat Girl Rasmussen", "The Red-headed Crooner", among other no-talents. I think all of the kids currently left standing will have successful careers in the music industry, they're all that good. Casey just happens to sing the style of music I prefer listening to. |

I thought this thread was spam when I first saw it. Then I LOL'd. Sorry Jill!

:p:

Is James Durbin still on this season? I don't watch.
|
Jill, if you watch survivor no spoilers. I won't see it until maybe tomorrow night. ;)
|
James Durbin is still on and doing extremely well.
infinite monkey, I'm am very anti-spoiler, so you can count on me on that front. |
Oh, jill, I got to see it.
Now is when stuff starts happening, methinks. Do you ever read the recaps on Television Without Pity (dot com)? Really funny stuff. The girl who wrote about Phillip's racist ranting last week was hilarious! |
I don't read the recaps there (though I do read the forums). The recaps I think are interesting are Jeff Probst's. Do you ever read his? I'll have to go read last week's TWOP one.
I thought last night's show was booooooooooring and predictable. I hate Redemption Island. It wastes too much showtime just to eliminate a player who's already been voted out. It's just stupid. I miss the reward challenges. Not only are the larger challenges more fun to watch, the reward challenges add a layer to the game that sometimes has significant impact, depending on who gets chosen to go on the reward and how the game play shifts when people are separated. Plus, we'd get to see beautiful parts of where they are, and often some of the culture of the native population. http://www.jeffprobst.com/survivor/m...from-the-host/ |
Yeah, I think they had to try something different. Look at what the isolation has done to Matt. Almost cruel.
So, hoping soon they join them all together again and watch all hell break loose. I mean, if it just goes to the end with Rob and his pet Phillip and one of those girls who never does anything...what sort of season will it have been? I love the Rob, but something needs to happen. |
