More of the Laundry List

...Of reasons to turn farther and farther away from the Left, whose subadult thinking and pernicious anticapitalism, destructive of wealth and of individual liberty and initiative, repels grownup minds.
Quote:

. . .Neo-communism is a view whose members consider themselves “citizens of the world,” not of America, and who therefore agitate for open borders and want the morally repulsive collection of autocracies, slaveocracies and kleptocracies called “the United Nations” to reign over us and the world.

A neo-communist is someone who believes that America is ruled by corporations who put “profit over people” — and thereby show that they don’t understand either profit or people. A neo-communist is someone who is convinced that race, class, and gender hierarchies make it not only legitimate but necessary to describe America as a “white supremacist” society. Neo-communists believe that a revolution is necessary (if not opportune at the moment), that the Consitution is a disposable document, and that America’s communist and Islamo-fascist enemies (Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Hizbollah, the PLO and Hamas), are freedom fighters or at least on the right side of the armageddon that faces us.

These are views shared by The Nation magazine, by Commonsense.org, by the Indymedia crowd, by the social justice movement, by the majority of the Black Caucus and the Progressive Caucus on the Democratic side in Congress, and by tens of thousands of university professors who indoctrinate their students in these pernicious ideologies every day. . .
The degree to which UN member nations are kleptocracies is the degree to which those member nations are compromised.

A rather aged article from FrontPage.

One more dirt clod to heap upon Pelion heaped upon Ossa is found here. If I make a hobby of this there will be many examples of why there is no rational justification to be of the Left -- only shoddy rationalizations, errors, and subadult, unfree, shackled and enslaved thinking, unacceptable to free adult humans.

But one does have to fulfil all three of those conditions.

BigV 05-11-2011 12:15 AM

why do you bother here UG?

Urbane Guerrilla 05-11-2011 12:20 AM

Because here there are so many broken ones. Now really, isn't your hostility to me hostility to all mankind? Remember, rage drives the Left. And that's pretty much all that does. Hostility to the right is hostility to -- well, every worthwhile thought ever thought.

That's why I bother. Here I stand; I can no other. Bitch at me at your peril, V. You know that. Should you desire to increase your individual idiocy, Ignore.

But I would not desire such things. That's why I write what I do.

lookout123 05-11-2011 12:20 AM

Personally I think UG and TW are just equal and opposite sides of the same schizophrenic window licker.

Urbane Guerrilla 05-11-2011 12:23 AM

Personally, you're well out to lunch there, 123. And tw is so far out of his tree he's in a metaphorical Conestoga, crossing a treeless prairie. Drawn by fishes.

Here is the link to the Homepage. Would you please show me where the form to submit corrections can be found?

Urbane Guerrilla 05-11-2011 12:34 AM

Below the paragraph you quote there was a link, which leads to a list of some corrections they undertook.

Looks to me like the "form" is an email. One subject at a time is no doubt helpful.

Aha. The Contribute Information form looks like it may do.

No sir. I bear no hostility to all mankind, that stinks of pure projection on your part. Nor am I hostile to you. You don't merit my hostility. But I have a morbid interest in you and the way you conduct yourself here, especially your utterly alien communication style.

Your demonstrated incapacity to express yourself in any way but proclamation or sarcasm makes you impossible to understand, much less believe. I can't believe you actually hear yourself speak.

So, thanks for answering my question. You're here because there are so many broken ones. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm sure you will, but by "broken ones", you mean anyone who doesn't believe as you do, right? I'll go along with this for now; conveniently, this definition includes me. I'll accept your appellation as a member of the Left. But this is where I'm stuck--I feel calm, not enraged. What am I missing here?

lookout123 05-11-2011 12:49 AM

lighter fluid on your crotch?

I was inflamed, not enraged. Nor engorged.

Such a disappointment for a girl.

Pete Zicato 05-11-2011 09:50 AM

You recruited anyone yet, UG?

morethanpretty 05-11-2011 09:55 AM

If this is wrong, than I don't wanna be right!

monster 05-11-2011 10:20 AM

1 load of hotwash (underwear and towels)
2 loads of warmwash (everything else)
half load of whites
2 loads hotwash (bedding)
4 sleeping bags
1 pair formely while converse pumps
beanbag cover
snow clothes to be put away for winter

lather, rinse, repeat

infinite monkey 05-11-2011 10:24 AM

Wait...do you have actual pamphlets UG? I don't listen to any proselytizing without an accompanying pamphlet.

Some of TW's posts are intentionaly humerous, he is not just a one trick pony.

as opposed to unintentionally hilarious......

glatt 05-11-2011 11:49 AM

UG contributes to the food forum and will pontificate about knives too, so he's not completely a one trick pony.

Sundae 05-11-2011 11:49 AM

UG gives good recipes, and he knows his history.
Still - TWs funnies make my month when they happen.

glatt 05-11-2011 11:50 AM

Hey Sundae, great minds!

Trilby 05-11-2011 11:51 AM

For myself, I do not need pamphlets.

I would, however, like some snacks.

Sundae 05-11-2011 11:51 AM

I wasn't aware of the knife thang though :)

Knives - used for good = spread cream cheese on your bagel.

Knives - used for evil = stab you in the eye.

Sundae 05-11-2011 11:58 AM

I assume UG is interested in the cream cheese type of knife.

Also, note subset:
Knife used to pry apart frozen bagels resulting in a deep wound to the hand - evil
Knife used as an alternative to a Philips head screwdriver - good

Trilby 05-11-2011 12:00 PM

Don't blow my mind, Sundae.

What? Are you idiots too stupid to believe anything someone posted on the internet--even if they were totally certain they were right about it? Hopeless.

Sundae, you can't use a knife as a Philips head. Only as a flat head. You'll burr the head of the screw.

Hehe, that sounds dirty.

I can and I have. I'm well known for burring screws.

I'm as sweet and dirty as toast crumbs in honey.

I can and I have. Stupid Philips head screws deserve a bit of burring.

And I'm as sweet and dirty as toast crumbs in honey.

glatt 05-12-2011 08:00 AM

I like that. "Burring."

lookout123 05-12-2011 12:34 PM

better get that right. If you find you like the "burning", your wife will have some questions for you.

infinite monkey 05-12-2011 12:37 PM

She starred in that sleeper made-for-tv hit "The Burring Bed."

Pico and ME 05-12-2011 12:41 PM

D'oh!

Sundae 05-12-2011 12:47 PM

Burring, burring, so good I posted twice....

lookout123 05-12-2011 12:51 PM

Ian Wright Wright Wright, so good they named him thrice thrice thrice

Sundae 05-12-2011 01:01 PM

Meh. Greedy goalhanging criminal and vandal.
Did I mention I come from a long line of West Ham fans?

He's a decent pundit though.

lookout123 05-12-2011 01:05 PM

Bah, he's a crap pundit but he was a great player.

Better West Ham than Milwal. At least the hammers didn't throw bananas at Wright and the rest of the black Arsenal back in the day.

Sundae 05-12-2011 01:09 PM

With ex-players as pundits you learn to lower your expectations.

Millwall were fucking animals and revelled in that reputation.
Even to this day Dads moans about his aerial being snapped off when he went to a Millwall game. About 1963.

I was referring to the fact he trashed an Upton Park dressing room after being sent off.
But I understand you need to refer to past excitement if you support boring, boring Arsenal...

lookout123 05-12-2011 01:12 PM

Well, I thought it was only polite to speak of the past when with a West Ham supporter. That is where your premier league days will be in two weeks.

Really? How could they tell? Certainly noone bothered with a before picture.

classicman 05-12-2011 01:14 PM

Speaking of futbol - I got to go to my first ever pro game here ... Very exciting.
New team, new stadium, all in all a fun time. The ref was the shits tho.

Wow, you ARE a supporter now.

You went to see the Union? That's awesome. The MLS, as a whole, blows but they're getting better year by year. Hopefully the Union can get a solid following. I don't like anything from NY but go catch a Union v Red Bulls game. Thierry Henry is old and broken down now, but you will be able to say you watched the greatest striker in the world play.

Tsch. History is something Merkins don't get.
Uncle Charlie was taking Dad to matches at Upton Park before you were born.

We were here before you rose
We will be here when you fall [/Coraline]

All fun aside, I don't actually want to get into football banter, given the recent situation with Neil Lennon.
That carries far too many of the elements of the Troubles. But carried into a new playing field. There's always been Sectarian violence in Scotland, but this ramps it up far too far. When many Western nations are looking towards Islam as the terrorist threat, is the awful Christian violence of the last 40 years resurging under the wire?

Friend has season tix. For $100, I sat on the 50 in the 20th row... Outstanding seats.
VERY expensive food/drink/stuff... I was really surprised. As bad or worse than Football or Hockey.

OH and after 3-4 yellows a totally bog red out the union down a man with about 10 mins to go in the first half ... which ended 0-0.

They battled in the second and FINALLY got a call their way (ref still sucked) with about 13 mins left. Got a PK, scored and ended up winning 1-0.
Had a good time...

Like, hey man, I stopped using my reverse-reverse-reverse-sarcasm decoder ring after it stopped being cool.

Because it came out that Andy Rooney knew what one of them was.
