Riddle me this, haiku man!

What am I? Haikus:

"What am I?" Haiku. These act like a riddle. The writer uses the Haiku to describe something.
The reader tries to guess what the guess what the poet was describing after reading the Haiku.

So, in this thread
1. WRITERS: posts a haiku

2. READERS: CUT AND PASTE the Haiku in their thread and try to guess
what the person is describing

3. WRITERS: try to acknowledge the right answer. cut and paste it into your congrats post

4. WRITERS : can add other Haiku's to be guessed at any time

I’ll start:

We three see nothing
forever scavenging food
your house is our home

ZenGum 08-09-2011 09:23 PM

Cool idea for a thread!

:(

Sundae 08-12-2011 02:29 PM

No idea who is taking turns where.
So bugger it, I'm putting one out there anyway.

This refers to which recent thread?

Some trees need to fall.
Even if sustainable
Are their functions met?

infinite monkey 08-12-2011 02:34 PM

I'm going to pout if no one will guess at mine. I thought it was clever, but easy.

Sundae 08-12-2011 02:38 PM

Clues! Give!
Thread or Dwellar or recent event or WHAT?!

Soz - late to this and feeling left out :(

infinite monkey 08-12-2011 02:40 PM

Mine: an item people use for something.

Is riddle.

As to yours, I'm thinking of the old "if a tree falls in the woods and there's no one to hear it..."

Sundae 08-12-2011 02:54 PM

Now I would say lipstick or make-up brush.
But you say "people" not "laydees"

I will keep guessing.

Brush has to be part of it thanks to the clever use of bristle.
If'n it's a hedgehog then you're a plum and I don't like it.

Sundae 08-12-2011 02:55 PM

Paint brush?
Better guess

infinite monkey 08-12-2011 02:57 PM

Actually, I'll take make-up brush because it fits the riddle just as well...I was thinking of a paintbrush.

DING DING DING

Sundae is the wiener!

infinite monkey 08-12-2011 02:57 PM

Ha! Synchronized posting. You posted while I was looking up how to spell wiener. Yep! :)

Sundae 08-12-2011 03:00 PM

I have no wiener (taking your spelling) but I'll eat one!
Is that my prize? It's a good'un.

My riddle was referring to a particular recent thread.

monster 08-12-2011 08:44 PM

mine was the yellowstone hiker who was killed by a bear. sorry I did not guess one or wait my turn, internet time/battery was limited

monster 08-12-2011 08:45 PM

Subservient frog
And yet not quite -different
webbed amphibian

monster 08-12-2011 08:46 PM

see there I go again. pure evil. me. me. me.

infinite monkey 08-12-2011 08:46 PM

Ahhh. Current events. Good subject.

Has anyone guessed Zen's?

Which is a clue to

Nigh on seven bits
of the woes of this sad world
The King is to blame

Another clue: a bit is 12.5 cents.

out of a hundred

I don't know how to convert bits. I'm totally confused. Does it have something to do with the US deficit?

A new one:

Blink blink blink blink blink
Light up as if I should care.
I do not answer.

ZenGum 08-15-2011 08:09 AM

A bit is 12.5 cents, originally it was half a quarter, that is, half of 25 cents. Hence you'd put in your two bits worth = 25c.

You're gonna spit when you get it.

Six and four fifths bits
of the woes of this sad world
The king is to blame.

ARGH. I DON'T KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!

ding ding ding!

Actually I think it's one of those decoy calls. You think you have a voicemail and it's just "the oldest heard message will be deleted..." So? I probably ignored it then too!

ZenGum 08-15-2011 08:25 AM

85 is correct.

Imma go to bed now, you better have it by the time I log on next.

infinite monkey 08-15-2011 09:33 AM

[Arnold]Oooh oooh oooh oooooh! [/Horshack]

85% of problems are directly traceable to top management!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clodfobble 08-15-2011 04:38 PM

Dang it! I had it, back at the post where Zen gave me the exact number of bits. But I see infi got here first. Too slow on the draw for me.

ZenGum 08-16-2011 02:35 AM

That's not even a haiku ;)

Okay this one should be easy:

Half of us have one

Cyclops' sea-serpent
