Do you think they should keep arresting, trying and sentencing this guy or just learn to live with him?

monster 08-24-2011 06:17 PM

I don't think people should be forced to wear clothes, but then I'm European.

Mad Professor 08-24-2011 06:22 PM

I think they should give poor old Wandering Willy a break

There's the catch, in Europe they can get you for impersonating royalty if you're caught wearing The Emperor's New Cloths.

And I suppose you are a Russian in the hallway. :eyebrow:

Rhianne 08-24-2011 07:07 PM

It's right that he should be sent back to prison, the public need to be protected from this dangerous man.

monster 08-24-2011 07:10 PM

Why is he dangerous?

monster 08-24-2011 07:11 PM

or have I been here too long? That's it, time for me to go cook dinner. I thought I must've missed some serious element of the story....

Perry Winkle 08-24-2011 07:21 PM

Seems harmless. Maybe mentally ill?

Rhianne 08-24-2011 07:27 PM

I was being funny. He's quite well known here, obviously, and I can't think of a more harmless individual, surely we can find a better use for our prisons than locking up naturists.

Are people still offended by nudity? Perhaps it's them who need locking up.

monster 08-24-2011 07:40 PM

right. I got there eventually :D

grynch 08-25-2011 04:05 AM

on another front.. ( so to speak )
this kid is facing life on a sex offenders registry for streaking a lil kids softball game. Ok, while not a brilliant move I don't think he was looking to fiddle any lil kiddies.

I think everyone should take the never-nudes pledge.

What? No Arrested Development fans??

grynch 08-25-2011 07:19 AM

Arrested Development?.. I think I heard one of our maids talking about that one day.

I chastised her sharply

Trilby 08-25-2011 07:23 AM

Did you threaten to withhold her afternoon tea and yummies?

grynch 08-25-2011 07:27 AM

I merely told her their would be no "Upstairs, Downstairs" for her.

ZenGum 08-25-2011 07:15 PM

Regarding the OP:

Consenting adults can do what they like in their own private spaces, but don't do it in the street and frighten the horses.

Suppose you were about to get on the bus, and you saw this guy getting off it. You'd be getting on thinking, there's one seat here which I really don't want to sit on, but which one is it???

Guy should just drape a blanket over himself or get a muumuu or something, and keep telling himself he's naked under the muumuu.

And do you think he went naked in prison?

Aliantha 08-25-2011 07:26 PM

I find a little bit of nudity each day is good for the soul.

That, I think, is pretty much the guy's point. He's a hiker, he walks everywhere and doesn't use buses - and anyway, I'd feel far happier sitting on a seat he'd used than any of the ones in my dog owning friends homes.

monster 08-25-2011 11:00 PM

If i was also naked, I would have a problem with who/what sat there before, but I would carry a towel to sit on. if i was not naked, no, no problem.

Trilby 08-26-2011 04:59 AM

always bring a towel!

Griff 08-26-2011 06:30 AM

You never know when you might hit a water buffalo.

Sundae 08-26-2011 07:01 AM

I've sat down next to very pissy-smelling old men and afterwards thought - at least I didn't come in and sit on the seat they just vacated!

I mean if you're travelling on a bus you're taking pot luck anyway.
We had a pretty horrid trip down to Cardiff sitting across from a man who was really rude to his old Mam (sat next to him) and having a huge row on the phone with his ex re custody of his son. Constant swearing, threats to smack both of them, shouting. And I don't mean one phone call or one row with his Mam. It was on and off over 3.5 hours. I had my earplugs in (of course!) so I only picked up the highlights. But my Mum felt quite intimidated. And when you're 64 and 5'4" you don't have a word with a man who is saying "Shut the fuck up you old cunt" to his own Mam.

BUT it looks like I'll be taking the coach to AND from Glasgow this year, despite swearing never to do it again...
The lowest overnight train is likely to be £55. Lowest single sleeper (that I'd kinda promised myself) is £130. Didn't think about the fact that everything is more expensive coming up to Christmas and major bargains happen in January (when we travelled last time). Far too much to get saved in time.

Diz's vet bill has nixed any chance of saving thus far. I pay the final installment end of this month, but I could have had £200 by now. If'n I hadn't decided there was something else I needed to spend it on (I know myself, I'm not an habitual saver).

Still, if my Secret Santa wants to buy something that costs 260x the suggested limit, I'd like a single berth on the Caledonian Sleeper please ;)

Still, would I rather have the money, or Diz?
The money of course! I could easily buy another cat!

Kidding.
But don't tell him that.

Spexxvet 08-26-2011 09:15 AM

I've secretly been naked underneath my clothes for years.

Anyone remember Andrew Martinez who went to UC Berkley naked and was arrested several times?

Sadly he died several years later by suicide while in police custody.

monster 08-27-2011 06:29 PM

No but I googled him, thanks. Does that mean I'm nuts too, cause I kinda feel the same. But I conform for an easy life -the principle is kinda low on my importance list and would interfere with ones higher up, like taking an active role in my kids' schools

According to the H2G2, a towel is the most useful item you can keep around.

monster 08-29-2011 07:23 PM

right.

and I do.

several, usually.

dmg1969 08-31-2011 11:39 AM

I don't have a problem with nudity. In fact, if the girls in my office wanted to come to work naked, I will fight to the death to defend their right to do it! :D

I don't think that people should be able to just walk around in public places naked. If someone is a "naturalist", there are communities around the world where they can freely live that lifestyle. Maybe that's the more conservative side of me. The more liberal side of me says that if you want to do anything that isn't illegal, I have no problem with that. Just don't do it where people who don't want to see that can see it.

I like the feeling of being free when I'm naked and I sleep that way. But I sure as hell don't want to walk around that way all day. I'm no hunchback, but I'm not Brad Pitt either.
