Crap

Pneumonia, strep, and a sinus infection. It's the holiday tri-fecta, go me.:greenface

monster 11-23-2011 02:13 PM

ew. How in the hell did you manage that?

BigV 11-23-2011 02:13 PM

trifecta (infecta?) PLUS crap!

Sorry brother.

Griff 11-23-2011 02:19 PM

I'm guessing I shouldn't have gone into my sister's house so long after the flood. I was on albuterol for bronchitis shortly afterwards but things got worse... Kids at school are contracting strep like mad and my sinus is always a mess. Who knows? Never had strep or pneumonia before.

BigV 11-23-2011 03:19 PM

pnemonia is horrible.

sore from coughing and unable to breathe. everything is tiring, and sitting down is ok, lying down feels like drowning. No rest leads to more fatigue. repeat. listen to the doctor. good luck man.

footfootfoot 11-23-2011 05:00 PM

Pete, you take this bell and whenever he rings it I want you to come to him and rub his head and say "Poor little bunny."
Got it?

Aliantha 11-23-2011 05:16 PM

Bummer Griff. I've had pneumonia a couple of times. It sucks balls. You need to hang yourself upside down and get someone to thump your back while inhaling mentholly steam. It really helps. I don't know if they recommend that anymore, but it's worked for me both as a child and an adult.

Did they give you a seratide inhaler? I found that helped with breathing as an adult.

The sinus infection should clear up pretty quickly now they've identified it and presumably have you on some kind of medication?

I hope you feel better soon Griff. I feel sorry for you.

zippyt 11-23-2011 05:37 PM

Feel betterer dude !

Awesome, but the girls are at a Reel Big Fish / Streetlight Manifesto concert so its just me, copious fluids, netflix, the inhaler of Ibuterol, the Levofloxin, and the Mucinex. Ali, I'll hold off on the Simon Peter maneuver until tomorrow anyway.

Hope you feel better soon. I got hit with something Monday... I think. Days are running into each other. I slept like 18 hours yesterday. Lotta sickness going around - around here.

Well, you can always contemplate the void, get right with baby J, and disavow your karma.

OR just rest and watch some brain candy with Cate Blanchett.

Griff 11-23-2011 06:46 PM

Richard Moss on the Kindle or a Swedish longsword to the helm epic, I am apparently of 2 minds.

Pneumonia plus sinus is an especially unpleasant combo. I suffered from that twice before myself and once ended up at the hospital. All I could do was sleep. I hope you get over yours quickly and that it doesn't impact your holiday too much.

Lola Bunny 11-25-2011 09:40 PM

awww...get well soon!

He works in a school. Probably goes through this several times a year.

A word and some initials ... Mucinex DM. Fucking brilliant.

Spexxvet 11-26-2011 08:20 AM

Don't exert yourself. Rest, rest, and more rest. Do not relapse. Get well soon.

Trilby 11-26-2011 09:03 AM

Tussionex.

Best. Shite. Evah.

Griff 11-26-2011 09:12 AM

Thanks guys. I think I'll save the DM for my meth lab though. My body can't handle it.

Trilby 11-26-2011 11:28 AM

there's no DM in Tussionex.

Just vicodin!

:D

Lola Bunny 12-09-2011 12:30 PM

How are you feeling, Griff? Are you all better?

Griff 12-09-2011 07:26 PM

Much better thanks. I'm still monitoring my sinus trying to keep it moist/soothed. My lungs are clear and I'm off the anti-biotic one week today. I'm going to spend more time outdoors this weekend and hopefully I'll be cycling or skiing soon.
