Aphasia relates to speech/spoken language -or were you suggesting it as a name?

BigV 02-18-2013 07:55 PM

no, was suggsting it as the "a" word for brain injury that is associated with language difficulties. My Mom has aphasia. Now I see that there's also alexia. so, no not a name, just chiming into the conversation about brain/language stuff. carry on.

monster 02-18-2013 08:02 PM

gotcha (also not a name suggestion). there's a whole load of them all do do with confusion between similar things -numbers letters, shapes... .....apraxia (movements) -very useful in Scrabble, not used as a name so far, sadly. Suggestion for the nest dwellarette maybe?

monster 02-18-2013 08:10 PM

[liquidmeasurenerd] Isn't it Gill? Not Jill? Or are both spellings OK? [/liquidmeasurenerd]

Sent by thought transference

Sundae 02-19-2013 06:33 AM

Only known gill here. As a measurement I mean.
I've seen jill used as a term for girl though.

I've decided not to play fast and loose with the children I know who have nouns as names.
Ocean, Breeze, Storm, Harbour, Fox etc
Trying to think more of names with other meanings. In English.

True. I wanted Felicity but it seems a cop-out.

Jimmy? To open something.

DanaC 02-19-2013 06:42 AM

Are we allowed slang?

In which case: Herbert.

As in 'spotty little herbert'

by "here" do you mean personally? because it's in the Oxford (among other dictionaries) and i've been plsying it in Scrabble since I could pull tiles from a bag.

But it is also a device used to protect female hockey players from cunt-pucks. (not given as a definition in the dictionary, though)

Jimmy's a good one.

Albert not accepted in Scrabble, don't know about other games

monster 02-19-2013 10:46 AM
