Are Bin Laden's finger nails being extracted?

I guess we'll see what Bush says tonight.

juju 03-06-2003 01:27 PM

Tonight? Did I miss something in my media blackout?

Griff 03-06-2003 01:37 PM

I'm helping Rush rumor monger.

Undertoad 03-06-2003 01:38 PM

J, Bush press conference tonight at 8 Eastern.

G, real news sources say no, he's not announcing UBL capture.

wolf 03-06-2003 01:40 PM

yes, tonight. there is an evening press conference scheduled at 8pm EST at the white house. It is not yet known if the major three networks will interrupt prime time programming (gotta see the latest episode of survivor without interruption, I suppose).

FOXnews will carry it, but we don't have cable at work. :(

Waiting for the Economist to come out? ;)

I think we all know by now that UT relies on CNN. :)

Undertoad 03-06-2003 03:08 PM

They all said it!

elSicomoro 03-06-2003 03:53 PM

Don't get too excited, kids...it's probably just going to be some silly b.s. where Bush mentions the word "disarm" seven or eight times, tells us that we have to do our part if a war comes, stresses that we don't want to go to war, but will do so with or w/o a UN resolution, and it will end with "God bless America."

You're welcome.

juju 03-06-2003 05:00 PM

Yep, that's what I figured, too. You know, i'm so tired of hearing the words "weapons of mass destruction". Jesus Christ -- is there something wrong with changing it up a little?

juju 03-06-2003 07:26 PM

Argh! He's just parroting the same stuff we already know! What's the point of this conference??

Cam 03-06-2003 07:29 PM

he's probably working on his speaking skills.

juju 03-06-2003 07:40 PM

Why doesn't he just practice in the mirror? I mean, I don't interrupt multiple networks during prime time just to tell them that the sky is blue.

elSicomoro 03-06-2003 07:48 PM

Could someone tell me what the IEAE is?

bartman 03-07-2003 12:49 PM

I watched part of it last night.

He still doesn't know how to pronounce 'nuclear' and he used that other word about 12 times in 3 minutes.

Yeah, but he's learned to blow past it fast enough that the still-present mispronunciation isn't quite so glaring; the second U is almost imperceptable unless you're looking for it--which of course everybody is.

The IAEA is the International Atomic Energy Agency, currently directed by ElBaradei (but formerly by Hans Blix from 1981--1997).

juju 03-07-2003 11:57 PM

He was very blatant about not answering several questions. Several of his answers were just watered-down restatements of something he'd already said, and had nothing at all to do with the question that was asked.

Just how fucking stupid does he think we are, anyway?

elSicomoro 03-08-2003 12:31 AM

What did I tell you about your assholish unamerican antics, juju? I've got a file the size of the Stephen King novel "It" on you. Don't think I haven't been in contact with the folks in Little Rock.

Whit 03-08-2003 11:38 AM

Clinton still has something on everyone in The Rock. As long as Juju is only bad mouthing Bush nobody in Little Rock will touch him. So, nyaa-nyaa.

Griff 03-10-2003 11:40 AM

Is time running out on bin Laden?

I'm with Mags on this. He seems to be trying to compromise his pronunciation. That may be even more annoying than just sticking with the blatant mis.
