Celebration

Are we going to celebrate the 1K member. How about a free membership? No...wait....it's all free, except to Tony. OK, how about charging them.:D
BTW UT, any idea how many members have never posted?

Undertoad 08-06-2003 09:05 PM

Actually -- there are 991 members but I've deleted a few in the day, so the 1000th member is cmanlee.

http://cellar.org/member.php?s=&acti...fo&userid=1000

Looks like a lurker.

The number who've never posted: 307.

But it's a milestone for sure!

dave 08-07-2003 08:42 AM

Number who have posted more than dave: one (and he's ugly).

Unless you count the older incarnations of the Cellar, in which case, I'm probably not even in the top ten.

SteveDallas 08-07-2003 09:07 AM

hmm we should do something to mark the occasion.. something appropriate... maybe we could get some inspiration from the Usenet Olympics?

Undertoad 08-07-2003 10:25 AM

Would folks be interested in some statistics and stuff? This software can generate interesting tables of usage, number of posts, new users etc.

xoxoxoBruce 08-07-2003 10:54 AM

Yes, please.

99 44/100% pure 08-07-2003 01:28 PM

Yeah, but can it do a double regression analysis utilizing weighted quality of posts?

dave 08-07-2003 02:39 PM

All dave posts get a -1, all HB posts get a +3 and all sycamore posts are deleted, to save the community the embarassment.

SteveDallas 08-07-2003 03:14 PM

Does it keep track of how many times posts were edited? I might be up for a prize there--I've been known to hit the "submit" button and then think of something I should have said, or see a typo, and go back 6 or 7 time to edit till I'm satisfied.

Undertoad 08-07-2003 03:44 PM

Cool, thanks UT.

BTW the newest member's website is an interesting read to an old farm hand.

elSicomoro 08-07-2003 09:10 PM

Number of members with more class than Dave: 989, as of this posting. At least he beats Radar and Cairo.

I sense a shift of sorts in the last few months, and it's not just summer doldrums. It just feels different. Not bad...just different. Maybe it's just me...

xoxoxoBruce 08-07-2003 10:02 PM

Like less serious, passionate, tenacious debate? Cellar lite?
It must be the Dodads dragging the Cellar down to the level of the supermarket tabloids.
We need more Joydriven's to stir things up or Radars to piss everybody off.;)

juju 08-07-2003 11:07 PM

It's the empty hole in your heart that my forum used to fill. It's okay, people. Time will heal the wound.

dave 08-08-2003 05:12 AM

Man, I do miss your stuff. I understand your reason, but I still have to say: what the fuck, man?

juju 08-08-2003 10:08 AM

I'm going to be pretty busy this last semester. I'm taking a lot of classes, and the baby will come in the middle of the semester. I'm just trying to make sure my computer doesn't necessarily have to consume everything. And trying to make sure I don't have too many things on the table. :)

dave 08-08-2003 10:13 AM

Yeah, I know. But man. What the fuck?

xoxoxoBruce 08-08-2003 03:55 PM

I have a sign for my PC that say "Not Responsible For Alienation Of Affections"
Pretty selfish of Juju to put his education and family before the entertainment of the Dwellers.

I suppose you'll all blame me for Taseem.:(

dave 08-10-2003 01:37 PM

Did you bring that retard around?

elSicomoro 08-10-2003 01:38 PM

Tasneem is just an irrational left-wing fuckhead who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. He spouts a bunch of retarded propaganda, and makes Jaguar look mild. He'll be a great punching bag for days to come.

xoxoxoBruce 08-10-2003 01:54 PM

Sorry Dave. I'll be more careful what I wish for from now on.

wolf 08-11-2003 12:38 AM

Mighty and awesome are your powers, bruce, my man.

(so far I'm finding him amusing, but understand that's in the same way that I might find a basket of baby snakes amusing.)

Right. So, who's gonna take the lead in putting a Cellar-quality troll smackdown on this mouthbreathing assclown? I'm gettin' kinda tired of stepping around the great steaming piles of bullshit and moral relativism that he's been leaving in his trail.

Do you suppose this goatraper's sudden appearance has something to do with the abnormally hot weather they've been having in Europe this summer? I mean, eurotrash like this tend to spend most of their time in basements, smoking Gauloises, not bathing and complaining that their benefit payments are too small. Maybe the heat is driving them into the open?

xoxoxoBruce 08-11-2003 01:59 PM

Or THEIR cellars have become wired too.;)

I don't know, it could be a universal thing among the leftists. Those I spent the last week with had the full on victim mojo rolling for pretty much a week. Oh well, gotta get hardened for grad school, practice laughing off the foolishness when I'm outa ear shot.

OnyxCougar 08-12-2003 08:23 AM

I seriously missed you guys while I was moving and internet-challenged.

It's good to be home.

:D

It might be more effective if you don't wait until you're out of earshot especially as a preventative (preemptive) measure. ;)

Welcome back Onyx.:D

Griff 08-13-2003 07:14 AM

must get degree must not alienate all profs who attend my oral exam

Getting settled in OC?

xoxoxoBruce 08-13-2003 08:00 AM

Oh...it's da man. well then disregard previous post.

Settling in, working, trying to figure out how to afford to furnish my 2 bedroom apartment in less than 2 years...

I have the room theme/color scheme thing worked out in my head, but I have no damn furniture. Sleeping on the blowup mattress and have the computer all set up on the floor.

I'm not above going to wal-mart = quality enough for me route, but the cherrywood-colored desk/chair/bookcase set I want is $190 each, and I need two sets, one for me and one for my fiancee. So it's all about the layaway and making do right now.

Meantime, I'm in training, hoping to stay there for the full three weeks, although because I have 2.5 years experience with the HSI tools, they seem to think I'm automatically qualified for video rep. Go fig. Once trainingis over I have split days off, so no more travelling for awhile. :(

Anyway, I need ideas for the living room. As I said, the desks are going to be cherrywood colored, and the motif I want is nautical, like nets, ropes, etc. NO LIGHTHOUSES. Maps are good. I bought a victorian-type bankers lamp, in cherrywood finish, for Steve's (my finacee) desk, and 3 or 4 cherrywood finish picture frames. I'll try to find a pic of the desk and post it.

xoxoxoBruce 08-17-2003 10:59 PM

The Cellar seems to be picking up members, at a steady rate, that don't have anything to say now, but are interested enough to plan on coming back. Is that normal?
