i like # 6 with out the www, as long as one of #4,5,or 9 appear on the front. and i think the "beware the undertoad" line location, font and layout should be fine tuned.

the shading may be a challenge with only 2 colors, though. can you do a more 2d version of that toad, al?

Undertoad 03-11-2004 01:09 PM

#5 won't fly because people will try thecellar.org

Pi 03-11-2004 01:25 PM

Actually, i'd like a ape'n'cellar-tag on the front and the coffeeshop'n'toad' on the back...

Neat idea. I like that too.

Elspode 03-11-2004 03:58 PM

I'm with Pi and Case, and will pay extra for that sort of layout.

zippyt 03-11-2004 04:19 PM

I vote with Splode , Pi and Case .

Monkeys on the front and toad on the back .

BrianR 03-11-2004 05:24 PM

I go with 4,5 or 9 on the front with 6 or 8 on the back. Put on the www for the clueless and no frog (toad) on the front...it looks "busy"

Brian

Put me down for two short sleeve tees, XL and XXL.

Griff 03-11-2004 06:32 PM

I like 1 or maybe 4/5 on the front, not too keen on the rest of the designs but I'll grab a large of the consensus design.

wolf 03-11-2004 08:00 PM

For two sided printing, #4 front and #8 back.

If we go with a one-sided tee, #3

(this is such a damn cool idea)

I think that someone should take the masthead, move 'cellar' so that it's underneath the monkeys, and add .org to it.

What font is that in?

Torrere 03-11-2004 10:51 PM

How about #2 (toad) on the front, with #1 rearranged (monkeys above Cellar) on the back?

That way we could have big, recognizable monkeys and typewriters.

Damn... is this subjective.I know what I like. And so do many other dwellars. And our opinons are all over the place.Kind of cool.In a democracy this is how it should play out. But,this Isn't the real world, this is the cellar.

...much too nice to be the real world.

</cloaking device>

I still have the original Photoshop .psd files of the monkeys and the typewriters... ummm... somewhere around here.

*rustle rustle rustle*

You can have 'em if you want, rather than be messin' around with copies of copies of copies of copies...

OnyxCougar 03-12-2004 07:52 PM

#9 on front, nothing on back or #1 on front, #7 on back.

novice 03-12-2004 09:08 PM

I'm with Zippyt, Elspode, Pi and case.
Mainly because it seems like the beginning of a groundswell of opinion.

99 44/100% pure 03-14-2004 06:11 PM

I see that #13 is pulling away from the pack (22% as of this writing). It's nice and all, but, I ask you, what good are the monkeys without the typewriters? Are we trying to say we're all a bunch of lower primates, without tools?

Elspode 03-14-2004 06:22 PM

Yeah, what she said...

Griff 03-14-2004 06:40 PM

yah, monkeys with tools on the front toad on back

at the time you posted that there were 13 votes for #9...as 9 is the highest numer, i assume and just want to clarify for future record that you meant #9.

that's why we're voting..... 13 people don't need the typewriter. the monkeys must be recognizable enough.

As far as what we're trying to say? I can only speak for myself....but, I'm not trying to say anything. I just want it to look cool. The composition and overall "shape" of that logo is one of the better ones. It almost looks professional..... there are more logos with typrwriters than without, but based on current ranking, as #'s 8&9 are ahead, i'm thinking most peole expect that the typewriters will look like square blobs on a shirt.

Undertoad 03-14-2004 07:06 PM

I think the problem with #9 is that if it is reduced to shirt-pocket size, the tagline will be unreadable gunk. Also consider that there are at least two *shades* in #9, which will be reduced to only one in the finished product.

actually, i was unable to convert the black in the monkeys to that same color blue, so i just tinted the monkeys to get that idea accross.

As far as the coffee shop line, as long as the line is on the back, it could simply be removed:

Maybe they all just haven't thought it through. Maybe those who really do think that there should be typewriters are a silent majority. In a proper benevolent dictatorship, a majority vote would not necessarily hold sway over final decision making.

So, the question really is: Does UT want typewriters in order to fully represent the original spirit of the monkeys' presence in the first place? :D

Undertoad 03-14-2004 10:23 PM

When you think about it, it still represents the wearer end of the user - Cellar relationship.

wolf 03-14-2004 10:46 PM

I like the typewriters.
