Get your laugh on

I've been hooked on a few online comics recently, thought I'd share, see if anyone has a strip to add.

My signature quote is from Bob the Angry Flower.

Clodfobble 03-22-2005 12:17 PM

I read about 30 webcomics everyday. :)

www.wigu.com is my favorite.

It's now a spinoff called "Magical Adventures in Space," but you really have to read the WIGU archives linked at the bottom of the page to know who the characters are.

wolf 03-22-2005 12:51 PM

30? Still job hunting, or doing something so mindboggling boring that you have time in between stuff you have to do before the end of the day?

Clodfobble 03-22-2005 02:34 PM

Nah, it just takes 15 seconds to read each one. I spend way more time on the cellar. :)

But I did find several contract jobs doing audio, the most long-running and consistent being for an educational software company. I get to do most of the editing and such at home, and only have to leave the house for recording sessions.

Undertoad 03-22-2005 05:54 PM

This may be my favorite Achewood ever.

Having read precisely one of these strips, the one you linked too, I must agree, wholeheartedly.

Now I have a dilema. Do I go out knowing I have read the funniest freakin comic ever? Or do I read more of them and shake my head in dismay at their striving inadequacies?

Turtleneck Tom, indeed. On the other hand, I could always imagine that he could have called him Mort and know that there could be something maybe a little bit funnier.

Not that Mort's funnier, but that's the image I got when he said T-Tom. hhahahahhehhehhehhehaha

Nobody remembers a comic concerning a female soldier in Afghanistan. Mostly a mix of different styles with small films and so on. I thought I first saw a link somewhere over here, but can't find it back...

Toothpaste for Dinner
One of my favorites, definitley worth going through his archives. Some gut busting ones in there.

I enjoyed Exploitation Now. Though it's now done. (I never got into the author's next project, Errant Story.)

There's also Sluggy Freelance.

I've also been a fan of Girl Genius, which was NOT a web comic until this week. But they are now putting out their new matterial online, and simultaneously putting out the back story from vols. 1 - 13 of the original comic book version out so that people can catch up.

This is fun. Replicated goodness.

Undertoad 08-23-2005 07:51 PM

another fine Achewood today

wolf 08-24-2005 12:41 AM

I will be posting this at work tomorrow.

The doctor on tonight is just a little too new and a little too close to this description to be sure about how he might react.

BrianR 08-24-2005 08:42 AM

I have always been a Jay fan. Enjoy the other storylines too. May not be as safe for work as I like to think.

plthijinx 08-24-2005 10:35 AM

Great, now I have to factor that into my web time...

chicken wings is updated every tuesday. here's this weeks, and it's about right!!

BigV 09-13-2005 05:02 PM

plthijinx, you really need to rent The Gods Must Be Crazy II. Check it out. Not as funny as the original, but worthy, and at the risk of betraying a little of the story, this comic would be a suitable trailer... :)

Kagen4o4 09-13-2005 05:10 PM

this is the best one
lots of seperate ones

BigV 09-13-2005 06:24 PM

Sorry to criticize your linking skills again, Kagen404, but they all are listed as .../archive.html . We're gonna need a little more help. Thanks.

lheene 09-13-2005 09:19 PM

Carol Lay's online comics are hoot! I love the postmodern morality schtick

Kagen4o4 09-13-2005 10:55 PM

that was the point...that "set" of comics is the best.

wolf 09-14-2005 12:43 AM

Wow. BigV schooled by a TINPer. Who woulda thunk it?

(They are all very, very funny. Another good way to amuse myself at work!)

Kagen4o4 09-14-2005 04:53 AM

lol, i would have thought by now that ive established myself as a cellarite by now, rather than just a TINPian

wolf 09-14-2005 10:23 AM

You have, but it was the best way to diss BigV ...

i'll have to check it out next time i'm at the video store. crap i still haven't seen napoleon dynamite! those chopper pilots i was relaying for couldn't stop quoting that movie.

BigV 09-14-2005 01:04 PM

Perhaps I misunderstood your post, Kagen404. I thought you intended to say that "this is the best one" meaning the best comic out of your link's long list. Several other recent posts indicated a specific instance of a given strip, but your link obviously didn't lead to a specific instance. Other posts talked about a whole strip that the poster likes. Your link didn't really do that either, since it points to a kind of greatest hits list. That's just fine, of course.

But since I didn't understand you the first time, I'll take this opportunity to recast my question. Based on your link to the list of funny comics, is there one or the other that you like the best?

Kagen4o4 09-14-2005 06:12 PM

yes

Kagen4o4 09-14-2005 06:15 PM

sorry couldnt resist

but no i dont really have a favourite amoung all of them but this is one in a list of many

seakdivers 09-14-2005 06:45 PM

Whatsa TINPer?

Am I a TINPer?

I don't think I want to be a TINPer. It sounds bad.

BigV 09-14-2005 06:54 PM

Not bad, just HIGHLY focused. You could find out for yourself, like many many others have by googling the phrase, "this is not porn". You'll see. It's not harmful, safe for work, but the people attracted to it...I once heard the phrase (applied to me, actually) "like a pup on a root" and boy, does it fit.

seakdivers 09-14-2005 07:36 PM

but I like porn.

crud.

Actually, that is the set of all strips in the comic. His page layout could obviously use some improvement. :)

This one's my favorite:

OMG, I checked out this link and I am totally hooked! The characters are drawn like a combination of anime and Stan Lee and the whole thing has such a feel of Hitchhiker's Guide that I totally got into it from the first few pages. Why did this have to happen on a Friday, now I have to wait until Monday to check the local comics store for all the back issues :(
