Paragould Arkansas
well tomorrow i'm going wheels up around 2 and landing in Zippyt's hometown of Paragould Arkansas in search of either dove or that lass that he shot a picture of Here anyway i'm sure that much beer will be consumed and many lies will be told. then the next week if he can swing it from work, he'll be driving down with his professional camping truck to chase texas dove 60 miles south of austin! should be fun weekends!
|
I nominate Mrs Zippyt for sainthood.
|
hey Zip, meet me at the airport (kirk field) around 6 p.m. - mkay? i should be landing between 5:30 and 6 depending on when i leave La Porte and unless you want to go for a quick spin in the geronimo then an ice cold heineken would be gr8 2! :thumb:
|
Well I sure hope you find them there, 'cause they sure ain't here. Opening day came and went Sept 1st, and it was the first time in years I wasn't out in the field. The birds weren't where they were 'sposed to be, meanwhile, my brand new Bennelli grows mold in the garage. Good luck boys! :thumb: Take some pics and bring back some stories so I can live vicariously through you.

Aw yeah! Rock on brothers!
|
So how much aviation gas does it take to fly one way to AK?
Do they make a biodiesel airplane? ;) |
80 gal But it may be leaking out of the cap .
Fred says there Are Diesel planes , so thus you Could run bio-diesel ,IF the FAA were to approve it as a suitable fuel . I read some thing once discussing small Verry effecent diesel engines for Ultra-lites , on BIG point was that you could have a coffie can sized fuel tank and be able to runnall day |
Speaking of bio diesel , I am considering gettin this kit for my camping truck ,
http://www.greasecar.com/ |
Hey, this thing here must have given you confidence in the plane.
http://cellar.org/2005/wtfwire.jpg Looks like quality equipment!! What the hell, couldn't even take the time out to wrap the end in electrical tape? Ten bucks says that when you press it, a little speaker gives out a "brzzzam" sound and you can pretend you're firing at enemy pilots. |
Actualy its more like "RATATATATATAT" ,
Well Fred winged it out of here a little bit ago with the promise to fly on up again one day |
Dudes call me up last night, drunk as skunks. zip suggests I upgrade to the Glock Model 23 (hi-cap .40, perfect for CW). I am convinced the 3-safety system works well, or he might have shot himself. Again.
|
Errrmm...... .AK is Alaska, not Arkansas.
So how much would it cost to fly to Alaska? |
I was woundering when some body would catch that ,
But hey , Alaska and arkansas get mixed up ALL the time  |
ass. is. tired. i got bounced around more that marbles in a tin can on a dirt road. turbulence sucked today.
seak - waaaaaay too much avgas. commercial flight is the way to go. UT - making fun of my PTT installation are ya? (push to talk, ie transmit) i was in a hurry so i just got it working and hauled butt. i'm going to bed. soon. |
Ok, I do sometimes get AR, AK, and AL mixed up, usually when a state has both of the letters following the A. Arkansas and Alaska both have K's. Arizona and Arkansas both have R's, but I know that AZ is a postal code so I have Arizona covered. Alaska and Alabama both have L's.
Personally, life would have been easier if we had named a state or two with X's and Y's. I work with banks, not the post office. |
Life would be easier if we just used the states names, not these federal district two-letter codes that are part of the one-world conspiracy ...
|
here's the lowdown seakdivers:

|
i couldn't even imagine ferrying the geronimo to alaska. i'd be a tired mofo when done....
|
I want right seat. I want to see how boring it is to fly over the Rockies. Plus I want to press the "RATATATATATAT" button. Navigate the return trip via LAS please.
|
My uncle was getting ready to fly back to Alaska (from Massachusetts) when a local guy told him he was going up to teach school and would be taking his own plane. He asked my Uncle if he wanted to ride along. Sure, sounds like fun.
Turns out it was a high wing and this guy wasn’t instrument rated. It was March and they could only fly in daylight and good weather. Followed railroad tracks and the Alcan highway, slept under the plane in sleeping bags and it took them twice as long as he could have driven it in. btw- The guy at work that takes the tank truck to Philly Airport to buy Jet-A for the helicopters says they’ve been paying $5 a gallon. |

I'm sure PltHijnx thought to take along an empty coffee can.
(He's not allowed to empty any beer bottles until he sets down, you see ... and it's tougher to aim at such a small target when you have to steer in three dimensions.) |
