That's nice.

Holy shit, a band of Neds!

Undertoad 09-29-2017 04:09 PM

Stunning. Totally original. Dream pop, nu-soul, electronica, jazz chords, and a drop-dead amazing voice, recorded so it all feels intimate. There's never been anything like this, I think.

xoxoxoBruce 09-29-2017 04:18 PM

Good grief. :smack:

Undertoad 10-05-2017 12:51 PM

OK now THAT is clever.

I like it. They did a good job with the effect.

It reminds me a lot of The Edge talking in It Might Get Loud about how he plays guitar with an echo machine and the echo is like playing with another guitarist. Except his echo only loops 4 times, and this one loops continually.

Sophisticated dream pop. Light and airy. From New Zealand.
As usual, you'll either love it or hate it. If you hate stuff I offer
you will hate this too.

Seriously in lust it bothers me
Under the boot of my desire to be
Never taking myself that seriously
Don't think it bothers me

I was curious enough to look him up. Looks like he's in the area and it's 20 bucks. I'm actually off that day (and another 20 or so through the end of the year) and almost want to brave downtown and a 65 mile drive each way.

The Clientele at Boot & Saddle Nov. 3. OMG the Clientele. I imagine it's sold out by now and I hate myself

New Zealand Muzak, who'd of thunk it.

With just two guitars, bass, and drums, and two vox, they create a soundscape that is just huge and immense. When they break it down, and start recovering, at 2:58 lady vox mix into the guitary riffing and it becomes otherworldly. And then boom, back into the main riff and your head explodes.

the studio version, i heard it, I thought, they must be multitracking guitars out the wazoo, and that is what creates the sound. So I posted the live version first, because it shows that no, they don't really need to do that. Here's the studio version

With the electronics today they can probably do that live. Some bands, like Boston, made studio recordings they couldn't reproduce live back in the day, which disappointed fans at concerts.
They're smart to keep their drummer caged.

Tom Jones is 77. Watch him bring it. I love how Jennifer Hudson is blown away, sometimes, when they cut to her. Who wouldn't be.

He's still got the pipes and the attitude.
