Jan 4th, 2019: Ice Go-Round
Well Ice Carousel, if you want to be persnickety.
The saw is aircooled but the operator must be drinking good antifreeze. http://cellar.org/2014/frozen.gif http://cellar.org/2017/ice3.jpg Last January the Zwilling family in Minnesota built a record 110 meter(361 ft) Ice Carousel. Then in March a group built on Lake Lohja, Finland snatched the glory building a 122 meter(400 ft) carousel. In April a group of Mainiacs in Sinclair, ME, said this shall not stand and the They augured 1300 holes through 30 inches of ice. http://cellar.org/2017/Ice4.jpg Chain sawed a 130 meter(427 ft) circle. http://cellar.org/2017/ice2.jpg Poked four holes for outboard motors to get this record breaking carousel spinning. http://cellar.org/2017/Ice1.jpg Word on the street is the Minnesota gang is going to try again this month. Where will this senseless escalation end, chewing up ice worms, dulling saw chains, keeping the fish awake, and promoting gaiety. tsk tsk. http://cellar.org/2012/nono.gif |

Two points, I think they would have a higher speed on the goround if they had pointed the outbourd engines in the same direction. Also, an interview with the talented Miss cutting the ice would have been useful for learning technique, plans design.:)

What makes you think the outboards were not cooperating, and the first picture was from Google images, just click bait on my part as I don't think she was involved with any of the Carousels. I'm evil that way.

Do they make square ones?
|
Only on the equator.
