This reminds me to go look up the very durable Alp Athletic Sandal, which I don't think they're making any more. My pair need resoling after more than twenty years of on average two-season use.

Teva makes them this way now. They still own the name.

lol, I love that.
Being a underdeveloped person height has always been one quality I coveted growing up.

I compensate with a nice pair of boots!

I only wear my indoors because I generally hate sneakers... the bottoms don't even get really dirty. My everyday shoes, now that its getting warm enough, are flip flops.

Currently these

Tell me what I should be putting on my feet, with the jeans and T-shirt that I wear every day.

Comfort is #1 priority, utility #2... it just seems like my middle-price Nikes with white socks may have finally lost their style since 1998.

Those look cool

lumberjim 04-13-2008 09:57 PM

most comfy shoes i ever had. only one flaw: there was no loop on the tongue to slip a lace thru in order to make sliding them on easier.

Wait, style? Style wasn't on your list of priorities...
Anyway, back when I was in college, I had some problems with plantar warts. My doctor suggested more/better arch support. I went to a local shoe store and asked for some advice. They sold me a pair of Avias. I thought they were great, and I've bought Avias ever since when I could. (Sometimes they're hard to find.) I've occasionally tried other sneakers but they haven't done as well for me. My most recent pair was just purchased on Saturday night, to replace a 3+ year old pair that will now be retired exclusively for lawn-mowing duty.

Keen sandals/boots/shoes kick ass. Well worth the $$. Try Sierra Trading Post for discounted ones, if you'd like. I have bought multiple things from them and been happy. No problems returning stuff either. Oh, and when they say almost gone, they mean it. ;)

I love my keens. I have three pair of differing kinds. The sandals really are the best becuase after years of rugby my toes are in a bad way; very sensitive from being stepped all over by steel cleats and the toes are heavily reinforced by solid immobile rubber. These are the best ones:

I also have a pair of trail shoes made by them.
