Maybe Mr Howes has stinky fingers. :haha: link |
yeah, that hippo is looking a little skinny around the eyes...
|
Hahahahaha!!!! Baby hippos are dumb.
|
I loved that show: Chico and the Hand!
At first he wasn't a very hungry hungry hippo. |
It's not like Chico can actually see the puppet when he's eating, so I think "stinky hands" is probable. Though it is difficult to imagine a hippo with a persnickety palate. :)
|
Its a hippo? How many carrots do you need to feed it in a day? I don't know if there are enough hours in a day to hand feed the monster.
|
maybe hippos don't like corndogs.

Although if it came attached to a pack of laundry powder it might smell a bit nasty itself. |

If so, I think you'll find most Australian's love them, especially at their local 'show' which is like a carnival combined with an agricultural and livestock competition. I know it's the only time I eat them, but they taste bloody good amongst all the noise and dust and animal shit. |

We know the sausage is made from nothing but hooves and entrails...but you just don't think of that at the time. ;)

I was delighted and amazed when I first saw corndogs on sale in the, UK. Frozen ones, but well worth a try, especially as I had puzzled over what they were for a while (they're in The Dead Zone at the very least).
I was so disappointed. Perhaps you have to grow up with them. There's a sausage advert on tv at the moment - Walls I think - about how they only take the two best bits to make their sausages. Hmmmm. That would be breadcrumbs and colouring then I guess? Anyway, slightly back on topic before veering off again - as it's an English zoo I'd bet my bottom dollar that Chico the hippo is named after... well, Chico. Of X Factor fame. My family saw him performing at their campsite in Great Yarmouth about two weeks ago. Ah the sweet smell of success. Although Mum admitted he was a great entertainer and my neice (14) was completely smitten. |

OK, this is what I mean by a 'dagwood dog' or 'pluto pup'. The names are interchangeable.
eta: and of course this is what I think you mean when you say 'corndog'. Attachment 20546 |

Obviously I got the reference.
But I didn't get the connection at first. Then I went back to the OP. And really laughed. Now I have to watch the whole episode. And probably one with Dwayne Dibbley in it too :) |

Brit do the battered frankfurters too and they are yummy (when you don't thibk about them too hard). but totally different. |

I haven't had one in 15 years, and mostly ate and loved them as a kid in the 70's. They were a culinary delight for the 70's. Food sucked back then. |
Before you could get them in stores, Mom made them and called them Pronto pups.
Alton somebody? on food net work had a recipe, that called for cream corn in recipe for batter. Plus a lot of time and work. Sounded good. |

Well it sounds like there's a few different versions. That wiki reference would make up about the right batter for the ones we have here.
You can get sausages that're coated in crumbs and then deepfried here too. We call them crumbed sausages (strangely enough) lol. |
Puppet-feeding a hippo to corn dog recipes, in 20-odd posts. WT...?
Maybe they should feed it corn dogs. |
Hippo sock puppet.
|
well, none of the ones I've seen here looked like what ali posted -that looked pretty edible! Perhaps the batter in MI is on the flaky side....
