9/14/2003: Ad on pregnant abdomen

We had forehead advertising on the IotD before, now... pregnant belly advertising. How much to rent out your 8-months-pregnant abdomen for a day as you walk around London? L250 (about $400)

Wonderful photo. Does the daily rate vary depending on the degree of pregnancy? More belly, more advertisement.

Welcome to the Cellar Yos.:D I suppose she gets paid up front. Wonder if she has to refund prorated if she goes into labor during the day?;)

yossarian 09-14-2003 03:40 PM

Always possible she gets more for going into labor while wearing the sign. After all, Doctors & nurses might constiute better demographics for the advertisements.

Did you check out Micro-Babies.co.uk? I'm pretty sure that Docs and nurses wouldnt be interested, but little girls who see pregant mommies might be.

Are we sure that monetary figure isnt a typo? I could bare all sorts of body parts for US$400 a day. :)

That is a pretty sweet deal all the way around. $400 and some healthy exercise for an expectant mom who has to obviously be out and about being seen for the day.

If they'd use ordinary large bellies and bottoms, tens of thousands of Philadelphians could break the cycle of poverty.

Wonder if she needs to use sunscreen. The thought of a sunburn on a stretched out pregnant belly doesn't sound good.

dave 09-15-2003 12:08 PM

There's no sun in London. :)

yossarian 09-15-2003 01:26 PM

Not much sun but enough. I got fried there in May riding in the top deck of a tourist bus. That was the last sun we saw that week.

was about to say. London/England had one hell of a sumer this year (last good one I remember was '96). I'm hoping for a killer snow season after all this heat...

Jaguar you should try living in Atlanta GA. After August we're generally ready to head for Alaska to escape the oppressive heat & humidity. One good thing about the humidy is the pregnant bellies get plenty of moisture to minimize stretch marks.

Yharr 09-17-2003 02:38 PM

I currently attempt to live in Atlanta, GA. You aren't kidding about the oppressive humidity.

This is one godawful state. Nice bellies around here, though. :D

Atlanta's not too bad. I've got 28 years here and I don't sweat anymore. Of course, if it drops below 60, I can't feel my fingers...
