I LOVE IT, Drax. Don't stop.

LJ 12-18-2007 10:12 AM

ok..no it seemed like you were surfing you tube....like people do.....one thing leads to another...and before long you find yourself watching a clip of the Osmonds on Hee Haw.....and you post it.....

if you're specifically searching out each of these songs, then carry on, my wayward son.

Oh please, Hee Haw is country bumkiness at its worst. I can't believe I was ever into that piece of shit.

Drax 12-19-2007 04:35 PM

I assume all our Dweller hotties enjoyed a bit a Kenny there. ;)

So now, a little sumthin' else primarily for me:

lookout123 12-19-2007 11:32 PM

Strife - Through and through

lookout123 12-19-2007 11:34 PM

Gotta say, the song is way better than the video.

lookout123 12-19-2007 11:47 PM

dude - the videos all sucked for those bands as did most of the production. most of the bands were in their teens recording on the cheap and pressing 7 inches with every penny they could scrounge. ah, my misspent youth.;)

the videos were never meant to be aired on mtv. they were usually packaged to promote the label or a show. just throw some live footage over the song and let it go.

Now that one rocked! But it seemed out-of-sync to me.

lookout123 12-19-2007 11:52 PM

i'm sure greasy tony at victory probably through the footage over the song for some cheap promo. there was absolutely no budget for this stuff because there was no mass audience - it was the hardcore scene. straightedge, vegans, vegetarians... not exactly radio fodder at the time.

lookout123 12-19-2007 11:54 PM

same time, but not from new york. florida hardcore. it was all regionally different.

strongarm

LJ 12-20-2007 09:17 AM

lookout123 12-20-2007 10:54 AM

lookout123 12-20-2007 11:03 AM

Daft Punk. someone lined up Charleston style dancing over the music.

Drax 12-20-2007 05:44 PM

 to the dancing. Also, who knew that 3 horn blowers from the & a sax player from the 1920s would know a French song from 1997. :D

Drax 12-20-2007 06:11 PM

Primus's cover of TDWDTG is terrible IMO. Their cover of Master Of Puppets is not bad, but I prefer Metallica's version.

Incidently, the embedded vid of TDWDTG didn't play...had to go to the site.

Also, why did you post MOP twice?

jinx 12-21-2007 01:27 PM

Don't start shit with me boy, I don't want to have to make you cry and run off...

How exactly did I do that? By commenting on Primus' cover songs, or commenting on your posting of MOP twice. That's simply making an observation. I ain't tryin' to start nuthin'.

Also, at least I'm taking the time now to comment on others' Tube posts.[/quote]

Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend

Let the flaming begin. :p

LJ 12-21-2007 11:13 PM

how about you start a 'guilty pleasures on youtube' thread for that kind of thing....I can pledge at least 3 posts to it. I'm in touch with my inner weenie.

LJ 12-21-2007 11:23 PM

i cannot believe that i'd never looked up the Violent Femmes on you tube before....thank you, drax for starting my mind down that guilty pleasure track.....not that I'm ashamed of liking the Femmes....they fuckin rock......It is my opinion that, had they had a LESS GAY name....they'd have been much more mainstream and successful. oh well....This was one of my favorites from my senior year.....i think i put it on 'that's what she said' ....the best of lumberjim album......;) anyone still have a copy of that?

Add it up!

I don't see how Avril's music is a "guilty pleasure." That term never made sense to me.
