What's Scaring You Today?

Now you know I am scared by many, many things that "ordinary" people are not.
Ditto creeped out.
And my colleagues have already learning to come into my field of vision before talking to me.

But hey, it's mostly ephemera and the simple fear of instant madness.

So I just thought I would start a thread on what was spooky today. As I'm sure I'm not the only person who has an overactive imagination and has read far too much horror.

It turns out Coke is launching a new 250ml can.
That's roughly 8.4fl oz
I think it's because there is too much health advice regarding fizzy drinks, and those who spurn health advice will more likely buy own brand cola and wait til they get home.

Oh that's not the scary part.
The scary part is that the advert I walk past in the morning, in the dark suggests you scan your can and make it come alive.
No.
Nonononono.

Look, someone who didn't know who the Daleks were might mistake them for cute pepperpot paramedics who can't climb stairs.
With a plunger for CPR, saying "Resuscitate! Resuscitate!"
No, they hate every other race in the known universe as well as those they don't know.
Although they have an odd liking for Ska*

Who is to say that small, live Coke cans could not be similarly dangerous.
But so much smaller. So much sneakier. And without even the ability to plumb a sink.

Terrifying. Eyes, though. At least they don't have eyes.
And without dead eyes they have no real reason to steal them.
What they want to steal has yet eluded me.

* turns out I was thinking of their home planet Skaro.
I spose it was a bit odd that they were Reggae purists.

There was an advert, up until recently, on the side of a phonebox in the middle of the village. I have no idea what it was advertising. But it had a guy's face with the eyes enlarged (some kind of epic deal making his eyes bug out).

Did not like. Gave me the heeby jeebies.

OMG was it the Smiler advert for the ride at Alton Towers?
Terrifying.

Reminded me of The Grin in the Dark by Ramsey Campbell.
Whose books rarely scare me.
But stay with me and creeeeeeeeep.

That's almost poetic.

Ya, sounds like a Pink Floyd album.

Just listened to them today! Thought about watching the DVD concert from 2003 in the UK, but was reading Sarah's Key in the front porch all afternoon
