Falcon Heavy
|
I love all of the easter eggs.
"Don't Panic", "Starman", "Life on Mars", "Just Read the Instructions", and "Of Course I Still Love You". Plus, the upcoming BFG, I mean, BFR. |
I loved the simultaneous booster landings. It seemed like bullshit cgi from some movie but was so real.
|
I bet they named it "Falcon Heavy" because during the design phase an engineer sardonically pointed out that rockets are "fuckin' heavy," and Elon Musk ran with it. [/headcanon]

Musk is having entirely too much fun for a guy who works his ass off.
|
He can afford people to prepare his fun moments so as to maximise his time and fun. ;)

Just found out that the convertible is headed toward a Mars orbit. Can you imagine the newsday nostalgia that we'll all be reliving, when they eventually get enough equipment to Mars to successfully reclaim the car out of orbit and it becomes the first car to drive on the surface?
"Yes, kids, I remember when he shot that car into space. Different times, different times..." |
video unavailable.
do you know of another one that has what you guys are talking about? |

I should have gone down to #9, neat-o Bruce. Thanks.

xoB, thanks man!
HM, what are you talking about, cause, I missed *all* of these references. Quote:

That's because it's not the same vidio, it's a video of the landing.
|
Yeah, those are references from the event as a whole, not the video in particular.
The dashboard of the Tesla says "Don't Panic" (and there's a towel in the glove compartment) [Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy]. "Starman" is the name of the mannequin, and they played "Life on Mars" when the Tesla was deployed [David Bowie]. The drone ship landing barges are named "Just Read the Instructions", and "Of Course I Still Love You" [Iain M. Banks' Culture novels]. |
Thank you gentlemen.
