actually nice people/people that can be swayed/insufferable pricks
|
I am actually a nice person. I don't know if that comes across here. It's very hard to dislike me.
|
i know this will surprise some of you, but same here.
|
I am as polite as possible to strangers.
I desperately want people to like me, even if I will never see them again. My standard tip in restaurants is 25%. I assume the best in most people I meet. I am easily duped because of this. I treat telephone support people tenderly, diplomatically, and with some humor, as if being nice will motivate them to solve my problems. I apologize to hairdressers for being overly quiet. When in line at a market, I will flip products around so the UPC code is visible and the counter person can scan them without doing any work. |
Me too, except a) I have a hard time trusting strangers, and b) I cut my own hair. The rest, spot on.

actually, this ratio should be applied to buyers.
10% of people that sit down in my office will buy whatever I want them to. 80% depend on how you treat them and whether they perceive value in what I'm offering 10% resent you're even asking them to consider additional protection |

i pushed a guy into buying GAP insurance. he totalled his van. it was worth 17500......he owed 32500. he saw the value in what i had sold him. |
I say, I can afford to eat the difference myself. Since the insurance company is making money off the transaction, I'll just keep that for myself. I won't buy it unless I can pay cash anyways.
