Um...would that be called the quick and the dead?

That's a cool car ad, but "Cog" is the coolest car ad.

wolf 11-18-2004 10:04 PM

No, that is a neat car ad. The Cornfield one is cool.

I'm having a moral crisis. I can't decide if the Steve McQueen driving the new Mustang thing is cool or merely disturbing.

Put me down for disturbing. There's nothing cool about using someone after they are dead. Its only one level short of digging him up, plastering him over, applying some makeup and duct-taping him into the driver's seat.

Regarding the ad itself, he doesn't speak during the commercial (which is kind of eerie) and his eyes don't look in the "right" direction and he is "lit" differently than the background. Its just bad cinema. And I doubt his estate or survivors are being compensated which makes it all the more disgusting.

Just when you thought they couldn't go any lower, they continue to surprise.

OH Beestie , that rainbow clip is , so Plucking WRONG !!!!!!!!
Some body HAD to know what they were saying !!!!!!!!!

Happy Monkey 11-24-2004 05:00 PM

I don't think the website is correct. I think that was made as an in-joke for the cast and crew, and not aired.

lookout123 11-24-2004 07:03 PM

steve mcqueen's family is making a mint from Ford. they started that with the Bullitt edition mustang they put out in 2001 and have continued with the new commercials.

xoxoxoBruce 11-24-2004 09:19 PM

I think Steve would approve and from what I've read the new mustang is worthy of him considerable driving skills. :)

Thanks I needed that!

I received a video from a cop friend in my email.

It was just titled "Lesson Learned the Hard Way."

I was originally going to upload it to my webspace, and link to it, but searched around and found that others had already taken care of that.

The link does not go directly to the video. ogrish.com requests that the video be downloaded and then viewed. There is a story providing explanation of the event.

I didn't have the luxury of seeing that beforehand.

I didn't know what was coming.

Oh man.

Once I saw it, though, I gathered my coworkers around and we watched it about a half-dozen times.

May be too intense for some viewers.

I will probably show it to as many people as I can at work. We haven't had anything like this happen, but we've come close. Good searches are amazingly iimportant.

A couple of weeks ago three large hunting knives and a pouch full of rifle ammo was found on the unit.

In the past we've found other knives, a sabre saw, and an assortment of smaller improvised weapons. Yes, you really can sharpen a toothbrush handle.

xoxoxoBruce 12-28-2004 09:55 PM

Jesus H Christ! I can see a knife or sharpened toothbrush handle slipping by but there is no excuse for them not finding that gun. That large gun.

wolf 12-29-2004 01:57 AM

I know. If it had been a teeny weeny gun, like one of the NAA Derringers, or even a .32 that had been nestled carefully in his manly parts, I could almost understand missing it in a search. That was a goddamned 1911 in his freaking waistband!!

I do physical searches, of both males and females, primarily pat-downs. We don't typically do a strip in the foyer or lobby prior to an evaluation, but it has been necessary for some clients who have a known history of smuggling either drugs or weapons. Usually the strip search is part of nursing's job on an admission ... that's why an admission shower is part of the policy. It's certainly nice to put clean, less smelly people onto the unit, but it also cuts down on contraband.

Oh, and we often do find stuff on patients that cops miss.
