So you want to be a Doctor, here's a handy dandy chart from NAG, to help you choose a field. :D

Surgery - believe it's the only specialty that actually cures the patient

Dermatology - never cures, but charges $ for lifetime of the patient

Chief of Staff - believes medical training is not necessary - only MBA

Radiologists are crazy, too. The main trait is: want to be a doctor, but don't like dealing with people (talking to them, getting germs from them, etc.)? Want to sit in a room by yourself all day, and/or possibly just work from home in your pajamas, looking at pictures on an array of high-res monitors and dictating gibberish into a telephone?

That chart is absolutely true. Short paths, but the ER and shrink parts are 100% correct.

My path would be that of the ER doc.

Anaesthesiologists aren't sane.... although I guess they may be when they start out.....

It's trying to tell people what they do after three drinks that messes them up.

That's worth pointing out--every Obstetrician I've ever met has been humble and kind. They are the only ones who are fully aware that they are not God.

Me too.

Maybe because Obstetricians know they aren't in charge, just witness to the process. They pass on what they've learned from seeing it happen so many times, but mother nature is calling the shot's for the most part.
