long story slightly less short, the permissions on several parts of my drive got corrupted (windows update and your heedless restarting, I'm looking at you fucker). MUCH agony and frustration followed and was relieved when I "reset" Windows. But my apps were not reinstalled. This was revealed (again) today when I went to post some pics here (well, over there >>>) and did not have my expected tools at hand. Where the fuck is the install package for Picasa Photo Viewer? It's around here somewhere...
