Playing For Change.

I heard this song today and I can't stop singing it. It's very catchy and the video is cool.
:)
I just saw these guys, and they were good live! |
Is this thing on?
I've never told anyone this before, but when I was a kid watching 8 is enough, I had a Linda Ronstadt poster on my wall. She was kind of hot back then. It was when she still had a coke problem and was dating governor Jerry Brown and she still did some rock music. Actually I had 2 posters at that time. The other one was Farrah Faucet from her Charlie's Angels show.
She's a doll in this video, and what a voice!

Najee...Talkin'
Saw this guy at Gilly's in Dayton, some years ago. Great show. No video...but I figure it works as "good music." I had to say out loud "see, Kenny G, there is more to sax than just playing scales." imho It makes me dance. ymmv |

Norah Jones (yeah, I'm a big fan.)
Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66
Weird, it goes into the version with Blackeyed Peas...shrugs. I couldn't listen to that part. |
And now for something really hokey: this band is my...what's that phrase where you're not supposed to like it but you do? eh...
Inspired by Jacquelita:
Norah is a jazz trained keyboard player..and who does slide guitar like Bonnie? No one! Cheers.
Like Jacquelita said: two amazing women. |
Max Graham's got some great mixes. Not bad vids either. This was playing a lot when I was in Pak. And playing music like this completely confuses the people here. And this was hot the first time I went to the Phils. Pinoy Ako, "I'm Filipino". |
This might take a little time to load. But its worth it. |
Took no time to load. Took 2 secs for me to say WTF? Then turn it off.

In related news: music industry protective agencies plan to launch an exhaustive search for cassette tapes (sometimes called "mix tapes") given to thousands upon thousands of teenage girls being courted by horny teenage boys in the late 70s and early 80s. A spokesperson for the group said "We believe it's time to crack down on the blatant thievery which threatens to not only derail the sanctity of the music industry but takes profits from the pockets of hard-working pop stars everywhere. We now have the technology to insert a high pitched squeal into the background of every AM radio station in the world, rendering useless devices such as the Fisher Price Tape Recorder, a leading device used by perpetrators in the music pirating underworld. "

Shawnee that's genius.
:lolsign:
I actually got one of those from a grown man a few years back...except, of course, he burned the songs on a CD instead. I was more bewildered than touched. Shawnee, one of the songs was that Little River Band diddy of yours. |
Thanks! :) It was one of those things I thought about on my lunch hour, then I looked back and "this, or that, would have a better word or it could have made more sense re: time frames..."
Pico, I have a few of those CDs myself. ;) |
Zip, I love those mash-ups!
so I'm sappy
I heard this on the radio on the way home, and had forgotten how sad it is.
I really like it. |
Shawnee, Im thinking we must of grown up together.
Another "heard on the radio this morning" song.
Oh I really liked that last one.
It's pretty isn't it? Heard on the way into work this morning.
Very nice. I had to find it via youtube, that one's not available in uk. It's there though on a regular search.
Here's another Tom Petty
Free Falling from last year (Superbowl Halftime) If you listen you can hear the audience singing along. I went to a Petty concert many years ago and it was like that the entire concert. It must be amazing to hear you lyrics being sung back to you by so many people... |
