Colorado Springs
Tree Fae and I managed to eke out a few days in October to visit some friends of ours in The Springs...people who treated us like we were in a four star hotel. Here's a few pics.

Sorry about the manky links, but I'm out of practice with Cellar posting ways.

The third link is a shot of Aaron and Valerie Smith, our amazing hosts. Aaron is an artist non pareil, and Valerie is a pharmacist who, were she any more hawt, would melt gelatin capsules as she tried to fill them.

Wants me to sign in... not going to happen.:(

I believe I've changed the whole folder to Public now. Let me know if it still doesn't work and I'll fix it. I was too lazy to try and downsize them last night, and I have all this unused free web storage space...

So, the linkage didn't work as I'd hoped, so let me post a few more as singles so I can interpret.
Interpretation of the first post is as follows: The first link is a panorama of The Garden of the Gods The second link is a panorama of The Garden of the Gods, but from the Western side of the Kissing Camels formation, which is center in the first image. Third image is, as mentioned, our hosts, Aaron and Valerie. Fourth image is a panorama overlooking Cripple Creek. |

This shot shows our hosts and Tree Fae amongst the gloriously golden Fall Aspens. |

Kissing Camels in Garden of the Gods, zoomed in. TF says she doesn't see kissing camels when she looks at it. |

My single favorite shot of the whole trip. Dismayed Aspen leaf is dismayed. |

This is the shot that makes up one of the panels of the Garden of the Gods panorama. See the black looking trees in the canyon at center right? They're black because they burned in the Summer of 2012 during the Colorado Springs front range fires. The one pictured here burned all the way Northward up that canyon, and burned down the famous Flying W Ranch, a place I remember fondly both from my youth, and from when Selene and I took our kids there in the 90's. |

This is Pike's Peak...as seen from Aaron and Valerie's driveway. This view does not suck. |

Finally, a shot of Pike's Peak from just Northwest of the peak itself, a little ways outside of Divide, Colorado. This was taken the day after the previous pic from Aaron's driveay, showing how much snow clothed the peak overnight. |
