So the Harley is is disarray for now. I'm gong to leave it apart for now and get all the shit I want to do to it done. Needs new shocks, wind shield, and and and...

I'm up to about $4300now all told.

Make that 8K. What? It's perfect now. Worth at least $6500. Doesn't matter. It's not for sale.

And now to find out if I did it right.

Leaving this morning for Front Royal. Then on to Lynchburg to stay for nights and celebrate dad's 75th, then riding the Parkway area again.

BigV 08-11-2016 10:11 AM

Safe travels.

Happy birthday to your dad.

Nice peaceful morning. Church bells calling mass somewhere nearby. Everyone's still in bed. The place will be humming soon enough. Last full day here. Nice big old house called Concord Manor near Lynchburg.

I just took a nice dip. Now I'm watching the humming birds service those orange flowers that hang from the pergola. Having a good ole time here. Stayed up late singing songs and laughing at each other last night.

Griff 08-14-2016 08:33 AM

Excellent.

glatt 08-14-2016 11:11 AM

Awesome. I was surprised to see hummingbirds in the trees by the cabin on the Shenandoah River we rented for a few days this week. I had only ever seen them at feeders drinking sugar water. Never "in the wild."

Pico and ME 08-14-2016 11:14 AM

I watched them collecting spider-webbing for their nests, once. I was sitting outside on my moms patio in Tucson. Loved it.

Met a guy on a Gold Wing that had ridden from Alaska. He took this about 50 miles north of Boone NC. Got rained on a couple times, but it was a good day riding.

Razzmatazz13 08-16-2016 09:26 PM

Goodness gracious LJ, you're looking mighty manly these days. No wonder you retook the lumberjim name.

Griff 08-18-2016 06:08 AM

Good times!

lumberjim 08-18-2016 07:09 AM

I think we caught rain every day but one so far. But not the all day kind, so no days were ruined. Today we are in Waynesboro, VA. Gotta boogie on home. I'm going to try to make good enough time so I can stop at the Harley factory in York on the way.

glatt 08-18-2016 07:12 AM

Gute Fahrt.

lumberjim 08-18-2016 09:59 PM

Still not home. A bad storm got between Amandas house and mine, traveling 25 mph right in the path I take. 11pm and I'm at the wawa in great valley waiting for it to get far enough ahead to follow it. Still have to shower before I can touch anything like my bed. Sigh.

lumberjim 08-18-2016 11:42 PM

Home at 12:19 am. 676 was fucking closed, so I had to go down to the Walt Whitman and come back up 130. Swell. Long day.

My dad, playing I don't know what. But it doesn't matter, because he can play everything. This is a keeper.

infinite monkey 08-20-2016 04:18 AM

That picture is everything. :) Yay dad!

Griff 08-20-2016 06:22 AM

Good one Jim.

I can see the resemblance.

classicman 08-20-2016 10:36 AM

That all makes me smile. Glad you had a good time with your dad. Sorry the price on the return sucked.

A little misery is good counterpoint to help us appreciate the great rides we have in good weather. It was a little scary driving that last part of 76 while everyone tried to figure out where to go after 676 was closed.... but I set my LED lights to flashing red, and people kept their distance.

I feel violated. Sent me the same pics. You know there is a bike forum. I see you been cheating on me too. Thirteen years. Just because I just met you is not important. Tarheel is the signature at the end of my posts only because I got tired of seeing......using my Rolex Android 69 via Tapatalk. All others call me Ed. Jimbo calls me pappy cause I am retired old fart who doesn't give a chit what time I go to bed or wake up. I had a light stroke in June , but I didn't let it slow me up. Well maybe a little. I have a Harley too .Jimmy and I have a common interest, besides alcohol, cannabis, women, music, curvy roads, football etc. For those that don't know I hail from Nakina NC SE NC, about 30 min from Myrtle Beach if I take the bike. That crazy phuck Jim suggested I come here and take a look. I warn y'all I have CRS and LSMFT.

Clodfobble 08-21-2016 07:30 AM

Howdy tarheel. I'm from Texas and slightly inappropriate but mostly sweet but also inappropriate.

captainhook455 08-21-2016 08:19 AM

Howdy mam, I ever get over that way I will sure ride you on the back of my hog.

lumberjim 08-21-2016 09:09 AM

Tarheel got banned from the Harley forum I was on. I got banned for a week too. For questioning the way they close threads I had started. That was a month ago. Been cool since, but they still fucked with me.

The mods there are touchy as shit and 2 or 3 of the 5 made it personal. The last 5 threads I started got deleted because there were already similar threads.

So fuck em. I made a couple friends, learned some things from the normal members. I was considering organizing a safari....

glatt 08-21-2016 09:42 AM

Changing the subject, are you organizing cellar fantasy football again this year?

lumberjim 08-21-2016 09:54 AM

Yup. Been meaning to do that. I'll get to it today.

At first, I thought it was Jim, and I was like, "I KNOW he hasn't aged that much!" Not that Mr LJ is dying and shit, but...

lumberjim 08-21-2016 11:47 AM

Dad's in fine shape. Strong like bull

captainhook455 08-21-2016 12:13 PM

Looky here I haven't been on here a day and LJ is already spilling my dirt. I posted a pic of a pot pipe with pure bud enclosed an they banned me for a week. Then some pics of pretty gals that I down loaded from that same forum. WTF? Then I got into it about the ES thread, why be so hard on noobs. What a club. Enough of that chit. LJ gmailed me after I got banned and we been friends ever since and I don't care what the Jersey State Police say. He is alright with me.

If you don't post those pics here it will be a one-week ban.

lumberjim 08-22-2016 09:50 AM

Amanda had her gall bladder out yesterday. Just got her home. Worst is behind her now. Been having attacks for a year, so I'm hopeful that she recovers quickly and life gets easier.

Griff 08-24-2016 05:19 PM

Whoa. Good luck woman.

fargon 08-24-2016 05:47 PM

What Griff said.

BigV 08-24-2016 10:36 PM

Twil had her gallbladder out last year, said she's sorry she'd waited so long.

Good luck to Amanda, but she probably won't need it

glatt 08-25-2016 07:29 AM

Hope it goes well for her. I've known exactly two people who had their gall bladders out, and life was much better for them after it was removed.

elSicomoro 08-25-2016 09:41 AM

The Mrs had to have hers removed in 2011...we had a fit-throwing hell ride traveling back to KC from Indy. There was some adjusting to do, but as a whole, much better.

Gravdigr 08-25-2016 12:32 PM

Two Unclesdigr have had theirs out in the last two months.

Bad gall bladder, bad.

xoxoxoBruce 08-25-2016 02:28 PM

My last Ex had hers out after we split. She had way to much gall.

Gravdigr 08-25-2016 04:05 PM

Not me. I am like a duck. I eat and shitt. Take orange metamucel, it helps. Take fiber to stop the gut, take correctal to loosen it back up. A normal persons bowels function from mouth to butthole in 12 hrs. Person without GB bowels work in 8 sometimes 6 hrs. You would think that we would all be stick skinny, not so. Muscular physique needs all its body parts.
On the upside I can eat about anything except Walmart deli pizza. Greasy. Once I went on a spring tour west to TX and then back. Stopped at a chili cook off. It was a might spicy. My eyeballs fell on my cheeks, blood ran out my ears, my gray hair turned red again. Good stuff . I am at motel, go to bathroom, come out grab ice bucket run down hall, run back to room and put that ice on my asshole between shits. Had to sleep on my side. The next day good to go. The blisters receded.

glatt 08-25-2016 11:13 PM

Sounds horrible. Except the hair turning red again.

infinite monkey 08-26-2016 01:53 AM

Wait, what?

captainhook455 08-26-2016 08:22 AM

A person would think after such a harrowing experience that one wouldn't eat spicy food again, butt that is not the case. I believe I have burned a callus around the hole. What I wouldn't give for an Italian hoagie with cherry peppers like was made at the White House in Atlantic City.

tarheel

Clodfobble 08-26-2016 08:45 AM

Well you see, first, Captain Hook had his gallbladder out. Now he shits constantly. Also, he doesn't mind a little rectal prolapse in the name of good chili.

lumberjim 08-26-2016 09:10 AM

Lol. I don't think she has to worry about that. Not one for spicy food anyway.

tarheel?

This story makes you sound like an icehole.

:chill:

captainhook455 08-26-2016 10:00 AM

My wife is like that. Nothing worse than a woman uses up my hot sauce. I used to like Crystal out of Gretna LA. They aged the peppers for two years in oak barrels. Some company in NO bought them and it not the same. It was like looking for a new cat. Walmart brand hot sauce was on a break room table. I buy them 4 at a time. I dearly hate going to Walmart.

lumberjim 08-26-2016 09:08 PM

I've been living in the bottom half of a big Victorian house. Been here 3.5 years. My upstairs neighbors are awesome. But they bought a house up near where the guy that fixed my Harley lives.

So today, I made a deal with the landlord to rent the entire house. Amanda will move in. I'll have to start behaving myself again.

Its progress, right?

xoxoxoBruce 08-26-2016 10:55 PM

Progress? You found a sweet sexy woman who can put up with you, of course you want her close. That's natural progression.
