Yes, that's the one. Maybe you were thinking of cryonics or stasis? Sci-fi universes can have their own terms, too, like "hypersleep".

Stasis. Thank you.

These answer are informative. Thank all of yas.:)

It was under the hifi, btw.

Everything is under there. Including that scratched up DVD of Bob the Builder.

Gravdigr 12-15-2018 01:35 PM

Dammit, you swore you'd never tell that to anyone!

sexobon 12-15-2018 02:02 PM

Well, we're not just anyone! We're SOMEONE.

WTF is a "fluidizing solid matter trap"?

I did a quick search and can't find any real info, just the words.

Initially found here.

Don't ask.

Clodfobble 01-25-2019 07:27 AM

Quicksand, basically.

The current link for the broken reference link on wikipedia seems to be:
https://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/smash-lab/full-episodes/fluidized-sand

but you need to sign in with your cable provider. This is the IMDB page for the episode.

New Question

I looked for a minute and couldn't find anything pertinent:

Why is a large-mouth bass called a growler?

I'm assuming it's nothing to do with Lorraine Kelly...:bolt:

sexobon 07-12-2019 05:49 PM

growler

(US, dialectal) A fish of the perch family, abundant in North American rivers, so named from the sound it emits.

But that's definition #7, lower than even vulva.
I've done a shitload of Bass fishing and never heard them called Growlers, probably a regional thing.

sexobon 07-13-2019 09:07 AM

That's what "dialectal" means (regional language variation). That's why it was #7. I haven't heard the term used like that either.
